I like [name]Rowley[/name], but for a boy. I don’t think it has a very pretty sound for a girls name. I also pronounce it the way you do.
What about [name]Rowan[/name] or [name]Reese[/name]? Those are both more accepted on girls, and I think of [name]Rowan[/name] as more of a girl name. Has that same sound to it.
I think it’s cute, but I do think it sounds too much like roly-poly. Depending on the accent of the region it could be pretty bad, and I think it would be awful for a guy who ended up being overweight.
I think [name]Rowley[/name] is an interesting choice, but I agree, for a boy. It is cool and funky for a boy, but I can’t even imagine it on a girl. :*( Was this supposed to be published on the boys’ forum? I’m just curious since you described it as dashing, and people usually use that word to describe boys’ names, not girls…
Oh my goodness! I was thinking for a boy as well - posting it in the girls’ name section was a mistake on my part! I completely agree with all of you and didn’t notice that I posted it in the wrong section at all.
Er, can I ask what people think of [name]Rowley[/name] on a boy in the girls’ names section, or should I delete this and try again?
Thanks so much for all of your feedback! I’m kind of embarrassed by my mistake, but I’m really appreciate that you guys took the time to comment and give me opinions!
lol, I would just leave it, but you might get a better response in the Boys’ Forum. It is a very dashing and handsome boys’ name–for some reason, it seems like a very cool mix between rough-and-tumble cowboy and regal royalty, if that makes sense. It’s a very interesting choice–I hadn’t really given much thought to it, but it is pretty cool.
