Rudy, Rudie or Rudey

We have fallen in love with Rudy / Rudie/ Rudey for our baby boy, but we are unsure which spelling to use. Which would be your preference, and why? Thanks so much!

I like the simplicity of [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] - that’s my default spelling too.

[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]!

[name_u]Rudy[/name_u] seems the best option to me. [name_m]Rudie[/name_m] is also fine, but not a fan of [name_m]Rudey[/name_m] as I just see “rude”.

[name_u]Rudy[/name_u] seems the most traditional, timeless, and masculine.

another vote for rudy :teddy_bear:

this spelling just feels “right” to me!

I agree that [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] is definitely the default and most straightforward spelling, so that would be my pick to avoid any spelling issues.

I prefer [name_m]Rudie[/name_m]. [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] is also a good option but I personally don’t like names spelled with an Y that much. I wouldn’t recommend [name_m]Rudey[/name_m] because that spelling seems unintuitive.

[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]! It’s sweet and traditional.

Both [name_m]Rudie[/name_m] and [name_m]Rudey[/name_m] make me think of the word rude too much.

I think I prefer the classic [name_u]Rudy[/name_u]- just because I’ve seen it before! [name_m]Rudie[/name_m] is also good, I’m just not sure how I feel about Rudey…super cute name regardless :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

[name_u]Rudy[/name_u] I think! I feel like [name_m]Rudie[/name_m] and [name_m]Rudey[/name_m] look too much like the word “rude” to me, but that might just be me.

I love [name_u]Rudy[/name_u]!

[name_m]Rudie[/name_m] feels a little forced to me. Like a misspelling of [name_u]Rudy[/name_u].
[name_m]Rudey[/name_m] looks like you’re using an adjective to describe someone who is rude.
