Hey all! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are expecting our 2nd daughter who is due to arrive [name_u]March[/name_u] 5th. Her middle name will be [name_u]Florence[/name_u] for my husband’s grandmother, and we both like unisex (or more masculine) first names paired with more feminine middle names. Our first daughter’s name is [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Which do you prefer for her little sister?
I know that boys names for girls are not everyone’s cup of tea, but we really like them and have pretty solidly narrowed it down to the above options. That being said, I am open to other suggestions! (Especially if they start with an “R” or an “E”.) I doubt anything will overtake these two names for us, but I’m willing to be openminded. Thanks for the input!
I like Everett(e) better, especially with [name_u]Florence[/name_u]. I don’t know if you like nicknames but [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and Ette would both be cute for [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
[name_f]Rumer[/name_f] just makes me think of the word rumour so I’d avoid it, sorry! [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Florence[/name_u] would be my choice.
Oh [name_u]Rue[/name_u] makes me like [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] more! But I still lean to [name_u]Everett[/name_u] only because I keep thinking rumour. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is so sweet too.
I prefer [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] - it’s a better fit with [name_u]Devyn[/name_u], I think. [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] could get a little trippy, and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (while a great nickname) would make me think you have a boy and a girl, not two girls. [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] definitely sound like two sisters.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname potential and I think it sounds great with [name_u]Devyn[/name_u]! I think [name_m]Dev[/name_m] and Ev would be absolutely adorable too!
[name_f]Rumer[/name_f] seems good. I like that each girl would have her own initials and wouldn’t have to share. Plus, [name_m]Dev[/name_m] & Ev are very close beginning sounds that I would personally prefer to avoid.
[name_f]Rumer[/name_f] would be my choice. It’s the most distinctive in sound and I feel it complements [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] best.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] strikes me as a lot more masculine than [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] by usage. The first syllables of [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] are also so similar I’d probably rule [name_u]Everett[/name_u] out.
I prefer [name_f]Rumer[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]. What about also… [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_u]Rumi[/name_u]?
Of this list I definitely love [name_u]Rory[/name_u] (especially short for Aurora), but sadly my husband has vetoed this one. I love [name_u]Rue[/name_u] as well, but more as a nickname for [name_f]Rumer[/name_f]. I really like having the full name/nickname option. [name_u]Devyn[/name_u] was almost [name_u]Rowyn[/name_u]!
These are some lovely suggestions! I have actually already brought up most of them to my husband, but he has vetoed them - [name_u]Ridley[/name_u], [name_u]Ember[/name_u], [name_u]Romilly[/name_u], [name_u]Romy[/name_u], and [name_u]Emery[/name_u]. I love the name Remi/Remy, but my SIL has a little boy [name_u]Remi[/name_u] who is the same age as [name_u]Devyn[/name_u], so that name is out…
I LOVE [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. Sadly, my husband does not. He also vetoed my favourite name of all time - [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] with the nn [name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]. I’m honestly surprised he is a fan of both [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_f]Rumer[/name_f], lol. He and I have VERY different naming styles. (His suggestions were [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], and [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]. Much to blah and dated for me.)
