I came across the name Runa today, and I think I love it! I’m sad it’s not here on Nameberry but it’s an ancient Scandinavian name (my husband and I both have Swedish roots) - it’s the feminine version if [name_m]Rune[/name_m]. I love the possibility of the nn Ru or Runi ([name_m]Rooney[/name_m]).
What are your thoughts on the name?
I am pregnant with a girl now and her name will be [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. My son is [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. If the third child is a girl, what do you think of [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and Runa?
I like Runa and Scandinavian names in general including [name_f]Marit[/name_f], [name_f]Aili[/name_f], and [name_f]Elin[/name_f]. Runa feels more ancient than [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and more [name_m]Pagan[/name_m] than [name_m]Abel[/name_m] but if you love it, they can work!
Runa is gorgeous, I love it. Bonus with the nickname [name_u]Rue[/name_u] which I adore. I do prefer [name_m]Rune[/name_m] for a boy myself, but Runa is brilliant.
I think [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] & Runa work really well together too.
Unfortunately, the Scandinavian names are sometimes hard to find. If you haven’t seen the Nordic Names website, you might enjoy having a look around. Runa is pretty I like it as an eclectic set with [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f].
