Ruth?

I know someone who recently used this name for their daughter. I kinda like it. It certainly fits with a lot of the vintage names that are coming back right now. It sounds a bit harsh to me and I don’t think I’d ever use it personally but it’s kind of cute. What do you think?

I actually think [name]Ruth[/name] is a beautiful name. It was my great grandmother’s name and I plan on using it as a middle name. I think [name]Ruth[/name] will be one of those names that might have to be phased back in by middle name status and then work its way into first name. But that’s just me.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]

I think it’s cute. I probably wouldn’t use it as it sounds rather harsh but I would love to see it on someone else. The nn [name]Ruthie[/name] is so adorable too.

I love the name.

I probably wouldn’t use [name]Ruth[/name] as a first name, but I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] it as a middle name! One of my very favorite names for a little girl is [name]Adeline[/name] [name]Molly[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]. [name]Just[/name] love it!

It was my grandmother’s name and I love it! I would totally use it for my daughter as a first or middle, but my older sister already “took it” for her 8 year old’s middle name so it’s no longer available. [name]Ruthie[/name] for a little girl is super cute and my sisters and I have a habit of putting “baby” in front of the newest baby’s first name when we are talking to the older cousins, so [name]Baby[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is just perfect!

[name]Ruth[/name] is very pretty. It’s also a great middle name antidote to [name]Rose[/name]. Plus, there’s the Biblical [name]Ruth[/name], who is a great role model.

The only problem is possible teasing about ruthless.

It’s one of my favorites, but a little challenging on the middle-name front.

As a middle name it has the same appeal as [name]Rose[/name], imo.

I adore the name and think it’s an beautiful, underused classic, particularly in the first name place. [name]Ruth[/name] is what I named my daughter. It was a family name that had been passed down for generations and was my mom’s name. The reactions I got to naming my baby [name]Ruth[/name] ranged from the extremely positive to a few very negative comments. Mostly positive, which makes me happy, but it seems to be a name people either love or hate with a passion.

And I’d agree, finding a middle name to pair with [name]Ruth[/name] can be tricky because its short name and you have to find a longer name to balance it out. I’ve noticed an increase in people using it as a middle name, but hardly anyone using it as a first name which is a shame.

My lovely auntie is a [name]Ruth[/name] Her middle name is [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Margaret[/name]. My mum calls her [name]Ruthie[/name] sometimes but I like that a [name]Ruth[/name] could be known as Roo or [name]Rue[/name].

I love [name]Ruth[/name]. It’s simple, strong, and has a very nice meaning. It’s one of my favorites, and if I had more than one daughter it would be a hot contender for first name. [name]Ruthie[/name] adds a little sweetness and is a nice nickname.
