Ryan?

WDYT of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]?

Is it dated? Is it boring? What’s your first impression?

We usually tend to lean more towards spunkier names, but for some reason I’ve started loving [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] for this baby. I also love the meaning! We have a daughter named [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], does that even work with a little brother named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]?

When I hear the name [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] I first think of a person that is about my age. But it is still very popular so it works for a baby too. I do think it sounds a bit boring compared to [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f], but they won’t be known as “[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]” forever so it shouldn’t stop you from using it if you really love it.

My first impression is a sweet, safe, laid-back man. I know a handful of Ryans and that’s how I know them as lol. It’s a good name. I think [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] do make a good sibset, even if they are slightly mismatched (they sound fine though).

[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is a little wah, wah, wah. [name_m]Just[/name_m] kind of bland and unexciting. Your daughters name is unique and fabulous. I would look for that same thing for your son.

One thing I’ve learned during this pregnancy of mine is that when you know your baby’s name, you know it. So if you love [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], you shouldn’t pick a second favorite name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go for it.

I like [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], but it doesn’t have the “wow” factor that [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] does.

I love [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]

[name_u]Ryan[/name_u], in my opinion, is horrendously boring, made even more so by the fantastic [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But if its the name, that doesn’t matter all that much. They won’t be referred to together all the time once they are adults anyway.

I know way too many Ryans in my area. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a common surname? With a common surname, [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] will be lost in the crowd. But if you’ve got a more uncommon surname, he should be alright.

I do not find [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] dated or boring. [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is a handsome name. I knew a little boy named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. He was very sweet, kind, friendly, and as a whole a happy kid. I find [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] to be a name that would fit a wide rage of personality types.

I definitely think of an adult when I hear the name [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. I know only one 7 year old with the name and it always seems a little awkward that he’s named that. Sorry😬 I’d go for something more unique to pair well with your daughters name.

I can’t believe people are saying [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] doesn’t work for a kid! [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is like the quintessential kid name. Maybe it’s because I was a kid/teen in the 90’s when there were a lot of little [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]'s running around, but my daughter has at least two kids named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] at her preschool and a little girl named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] in her ballet class. It is alive and well on kids! In fact, I have a hard time picturing an old man named [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] LOL
