What are your thoughts on the the name [name]Sabine[/name], pronounced Sa-bean? [name]Nick[/name]-name ideas, middle names?
I adore [name]Sabine[/name]. The only one I’ve ever known was a bookish, serious little girl with a glossy brown bob and wire-rimmed glasses. Perfect!
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Sabine[/name]. I used to be friends with a S a b i n e M a n o n. She is the only [name]Sabine[/name] I’ve heard of.
[name]Sabine[/name] is lovely, although I prefer more frilly [name]Sabina[/name].
I also prefer [name]Sabina[/name], but [name]Sabine[/name] is gorgeous too. I picture this glossy-brown-haired sleek and slim woman who is sophisticated and stylish. As a little girl, jeska’s description seems so perfect! Definitely not someone ditzy. [name]Bee[/name] could work as a nn.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Sabine[/name], has a very continental feeling. Cool and chic. I suppose [name]Bea[/name] is the most likely nickname or Sabby, which I think is awful but usable or even as a stretch but with a similar sound, [name]Sally[/name]. I’d stick with the full name though.
I like [name]Sabine[/name] better than [name]Sabina[/name]. Any time that I ever expressed love for [name]Sabina[/name], all that other people ever hear is [name]Sabrina[/name] ("What like the teenaged witch?).
All are really cool names, but [name]Sabine[/name] is mysterious, sophisticated, and sleek.
I love [name]Sabine[/name]. I know one who is in her 30s and she in beautiful, inside and out. It has an uncommon, exotic feel yet it is still strong and easy to pronounce. Also, this name ages really well. [name]Both[/name] sweet and professional.
Excellent choice!
I like [name]Sabine[/name]. Was watching [name]Sabine[/name] Lisicki at Wimbledon only yesterday!
Beautiful name.
I love it! If I had a daughter named [name]Sabine[/name] (which I never will, but still…) I would probably call her [name]Bee[/name]/[name]Bea[/name] or [name]Bean[/name] (but that would be a family-only nickname!) Sabby would also work, but I don’t like it (not a fan of [name]Abby[/name] or [name]Gabby[/name] either, but others seem to like the sound of those nicknames so it could definitely be an option for you.)
[name]Love[/name] [name]Sabine[/name]! It’s a very dignified, elegant name
Yeah, I always imagined it [name]SAY[/name]-bean, but sa-bean is pretty much the same
I don’t think [name]Sabine[/name] would necessarily need a nick name, but if you want one you could always resort to nick names that pop up from characteristics or something Otherwise… Sabby? Thats pretty cute!

WDYT?
I personally prefer [name]Sabrina[/name] and even more so now. A few months ago, I played a character named [name]Sabine[/name] and the director could NEVER get her name right. Depending on the day, I was [name]Sabrina[/name], [name]Celine[/name], [name]Serafina[/name], [name]Sarah[/name]…it really turned me off to the possibilities of [name]Sabine[/name]
In Germany the most [name]Sabine[/name]'s are around 50 today.
So for me it’s “too old”, I don’t like the name.
Here you can here the german pronunciation, if you are interested:
[name]Bine[/name] is a nickname for it.
I love it so much! A very sweet name that could work on a glamorous or bookish type.
I think of the books that were popular about 15 years ago - [name]Griffin[/name] & [name]Sabine[/name]. And wasn’t the lead character in Moulin Rouge named [name]Sabine[/name]? There was also a legend and painting about the Rape of the [name]Sabine[/name] Women. Those are my only references. I have never met one in real life. I think it’s a lovely name, though.
I like [name]Sabine[/name]. It has a warm, happy feel to it. Wouldn’t use a nn for it because it’s so lovely on its own. Also it reminds me of Mr [name]Bean[/name]'s [name]Holiday[/name]; “[name]Bean[/name], [name]Sabine[/name], [name]Bean[/name], [name]Sabine[/name]!”
Very nice. I immediately asked DH what he thought (he vetoed it) but if he liked it I would have put it on our possibilities list!
Thank you everyone! I’m now officially sold. If our little babe turns out to be a girl (we’ll know in a week or so!) there will be another [name]Sabine[/name] in the world.
