The only [name]Sadie[/name] I ever met, at school, spelled her name [name]Sade[/name]. That was the way her parents had spelled it on her birth certificate. Her siblings had very classic, sensible names. To the best of my memory, nobody at school ever struggled with the spelling or pronunciation of her name. I like the name, and I think it looks more streamlined and dynamic spelled [name]Sade[/name]. What do people think of this spelling - problematic? [name]Silly[/name]? Illegitimate? or stylish?
I see it and the singer [name]Sade[/name] comes to mind and that name is pronounced Sha day…

I like the name [name]Sadie[/name], but I confess I just see “sade”: spelled like sad with an “e” and pronounced like the sound at the beginning of sadism. If I saw [name]Sade[/name] on a roster in a classroom, I would guess it was a family surname used as a FN, not an alternative spelling of [name]Sadie[/name]. Sorry!
No need to be sorry, was just curious. I guess it’s like [name]Emme[/name], pronounced [name]Emmy[/name] rather than [name]Em[/name] = [name]Sade[/name], pronounced [name]Sadie[/name] rather than sayd? 
This is one of our top names! However, I do agree with the others that [name]Sade[/name] would be pronounced wrong often. I myself cannot see the “[name]Sadie[/name]” in “[name]Sade[/name]”
In almost all languages [name]Sade[/name] is pronounced like “sahd” or “sah deh/sah day”. The singer [name]Sade[/name] says “sha day” which is more accurate than [name]Sadie[/name], unfortunately I think it just looks like her parents spelled her name wrong or didnt know how to pronounce it but I guess you could say [name]Sadie[/name] if you wanted.
I prefer [name]Sadie[/name] to [name]Sade[/name].
I’m pronouncing it how it looks. I wouldn’t have though it was [name]Sadie[/name] unless you’d told me and if she, say, came to my daycare and said “[name]Hi[/name] i’m new! My names [name]Sadie[/name]” That’s how I’d write it on my clipboard. [name]Sadie[/name] or [name]Sadey[/name] maybe…
You gotta add the i! [name]Sade[/name] rhymes with [name]Jade[/name]. [name]Sadie[/name] is so stinking cute and easy to say/prn/understand. I see no reason why to spell it that way (unless it’s a maiden name or something) and cause lots of headache.
It immediately makes me think of the [name]Marquis[/name], unfortunately. Not a great association.

[name]Sade[/name] doesn’t rhyme with [name]Jade[/name] (that I know of) but people seem to think it does so I would add the I. Also [name]Sade[/name] is the root word of sadism which is not a very desirable name [name]IMO[/name]
I would think ‘[name]Sade[/name]’ to rhyme with ‘made’. I can see why it can be [name]Sadie[/name] but only after being told!
I would say it Sha-[name]Day[/name]. That’s the only way I’ve ever heard of saying it. I definitely don’t think it’s supposed to be said [name]Sadie[/name].
The only way [name]Sade[/name] would be pronounced [name]Sadie[/name] is if it was Greek, which it isn’t.
