Sage: honest thoughts?

What do you think of this name?

I think it’s a soft, charming name that has a really beautiful nature connection! It has a maturity that other floral names (Daisy, [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], tho nothing against those names either!!) do not so I also believe it can age well from childhood to adulthood!

It’s a cool name. I like that it has a nature connection but also has another meaning (wise).

It’s not really my style but I can see why other folks like it. And I like it more as a sweet, botanical middle. I just think it sort of lacks punch as a first.

I really like it especially as a middle, it’s soft and botanical, plus the connotation of ā€˜wisdom’. I agree that it would age well with a person, perhaps unlike some of the more popular ā€˜cutesy’ word/flower names.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Never been on my list but I’d happily use it if there was a reason. I feel like it’s easy to use in place of ā€œRoseā€ or ā€œGraceā€ as a one syllable mn that just always sounds good and makes the first name sound better without it being as common.

I love it, but only on a boy! I think it’s handsome, sweet, soft, and gentle - but still also has that bit of edge to it!

Not a fan of it, but I wish I could be! I knew a boy named [name_u]Sage[/name_u] once who I just really didn’t get on with. Objectively, it is a cool and exciting, autumnal name. I do much prefer [name_u]Sage[/name_u] to [name_u]Saige[/name_u].

I can see the appeal of [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. It has a wise, yet gentle sound, kind of earthy, naturey and modern too. It’s distinctive, but similar enough to the familiar [name_f]Paige[/name_f] or [name_u]Jade[/name_u] that it doesn’t sound outlandish. The thing I don’t love about it is just that ā€˜age’ sound - it’s just not for me, just as [name_f]Paige[/name_f] has never been. But it’s not a bad name

i think it’s pretty !! cool, streamlined, and unusual, but still familiar and intuitive. i think sage is a cool choice !! (it’s not my style but i genuinely love it for someone else if that makes sense)

I really like [name_u]Sage[/name_u]! I’m a big fan of nature names and seeing a non-floral one on a girl is always refreshing (nothing wrong with floral names! I just find many of them are overused is all, especially on girls).

It’s not overly popular but it’s familiar, which is always a great balance.

I do also see it as fairly gender neutral (which could be a plus or not, depending on what you’re looking for; I do see it as one though).

Most importantly though I think it’s a cool and very wearable name with a great look and sound.

Hate it.

i love / have always loved the name sage, it will always be a love of mine

I used to absolutely love it and it was my first choice for a daughter. Husband vetoed it immediately because he doesn’t like anything too ā€œout thereā€ and in hindsight I’m glad he did. I love the sound and the imagery it evokes for me but it just doesn’t feel right as a name my daughter would wear her entire life

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! I’d consider it for a daughter. Not a son though.

I’m a lover of [name_u]Sage[/name_u] as a name, but I mostly tend to place it in the middle spot. It definitely is/has been a forum favorite, but having never met one in real life, it hasn’t lost its appeal to me :slightly_smiling_face:

It isn’t my usual style but I really like it

indifferent, it’s my friend’s name & spell it different and it’s one of my favorite smosh members but the name itself isn’t quite

It’s very pretty

I love [name_u]Sage[/name_u]! Soft, nature-y, gender neutral, simple to say/spell… It was on my lists for all of my children!
