I love [name_f]Sally[/name_f]! I would use it with the nickname āSalā for a girl like from the movie Practical [name_u]Magic[/name_u] haha
Haha yeah I donāt want it to rise in popularity cause I like it to
What are your thoughts on Sally?
I have an adorable, tiny pet fancy mouse named [name_f]Sally[/name_f] so Iāve come to really like it for a pet. [name_f]Sally[/name_f] is 6 months old and full grown, but is extremely small and still acts like a baby, which I think really suits the name. I definitely picture [name_f]Sally[/name_f] being a little girl from a long time ago, but canāt see it on a woman unless sheās 70 or older. Iām not sure if anyone else had this experience, but I feel like [name_f]Sally[/name_f] was the generic girl name for toys, stuffed animals, characters that I would make up when I was a little girl, even though itās so uncommon now.
Ready for a comeback?
I canāt really see it on an adult or teenager, but I could imagine a baby named [name_f]Sally[/name_f] as a nickname.
Would you spell it Sally or Sallie? Do they give you different images?
I would naturally spell it [name_f]Sally[/name_f]. I picture both as a little girl from some time in the past, but I would imagine [name_f]Sally[/name_f] as a 4-7 year old in the early 1900s-1950s with a [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] [name_u]Temple[/name_u] character and [name_f]Sallie[/name_f] as a more of a wearing a velvet bow, carrying a parasol, holding a china doll girl from the early 1900s who is a bit older.
Why is Sadie popular, but Sally isnāt? I find Sally charming.
Probably because [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] was common longer ago so was ready for a comeback with other names that had been popular at that time. I think [name_f]Sally[/name_f] could make a comeback in maybe 10 years or so.
I know 2 Sallyās one is 2 and the other is probably mid 40ās. It works great on both of them.
[name_f]Sally[/name_f] is very sweet and spunky, and ready for a comeback!
I have been thinking about the name [name_f]Sally[/name_f] lately, and I think it definitely deserves a comeback!
[name_f]Sally[/name_f] is a favourite of mine. It seems a happy and sunny name to me. I think she is definitely due a comeback. I would be happy to name my daughter [name_f]Sally[/name_f].
[name_f]Sally[/name_f] is a nn for [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I never like nicknames as names because you face a lifetime ofā¦ Is her real name [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]?
As an Outlander fan, I love [name_f]Marsali[/name_f]. If a person wanted a sally, Iād suggest using [name_f]Marsali[/name_f] and then sayā¦ if the child doesnāt enjoy being a [name_f]Sally[/name_f], she has the option of being Marsie or even [name_f]Marlee[/name_f].
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is also a nn. Itās what my friend calls her [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f].
The youngest [name_f]Sally[/name_f] I knew a few years ago must be around 29 now. Her vibe made me see the name in a different light! When I knew her, she was a bookworm, brown wavy hair and big blue eyes, really sweet nature and so kind and caring. She was so classy too. Before her, I considered it kinda dated but donāt now and definitely think itās ready for a comeback. I prefer [name_f]Sally[/name_f].
Sally/Sallie is so vintage sweet and cute! [name_f]My[/name_f] great great grandmother was [name_f]Sallie[/name_f], and for that reason I would choose that spelling. I donāt necessarily like one over the other though.
I donāt think you would now. [name_f]Sally[/name_f] has been used independently for a long time. Like [name_f]Molly[/name_f] etc. Besides most people will call you by the name you introduce yourself as. No one is going to call a [name_f]Sally[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], if she introduces herself as [name_f]Sally[/name_f].
