Sam and Ren

On Yahoo today they have a video of two 17 month old twin brothers “chatting” and here is the video for those who would like to see it.

But I was curious too about the boys names listed as [name]Sam[/name] and [name]Ren[/name].

Any idea if [name]Ren[/name] is a nickname, or a masculinized form of [name]Wren[/name] perhaps? Or is [name]Ren[/name] a boy name in itself?

[name]Hi[/name] Chels, [name]Ren[/name] is a legitimate Japanese name. It’s usually chosen for boys but it’s considered unisex! [name]Hope[/name] that helps!

Hello
Yup it’s a Japanese name and to me it has a very masucline feel. My mum calls me [name]Ren[/name] short for [name]Lauren[/name], but I used to hate it because I thought it was a boys name and it reminds me of [name]Ren[/name] and Stimpy!

Yep, Japanese indeed. I love [name]Ren[/name] and wish! I could use it. My compromise? [name]ClaRENce[/name], possibly nn’d [name]Ren[/name]. Or [name]Clancy[/name].
I wonder if [name]Sam[/name] is just [name]Sam[/name] or if it’s [name]Samuel[/name]/[name]Samson[/name]/Samwise (or something like that).
[name]Sam[/name] & [name]Ren[/name]. I wonder which one will hate his name when they’re bigger?

I know a [name]Randall[/name] who goes by [name]Ren[/name], and I can imagine a lot of other names that it could be used as a nn for as well.

Thanks. I had never heard of the name [name]Ren[/name] so thanks for putting me right Berries. Now I wonder if [name]Sam[/name] is short for Samurai
