Sam without Samuel or Samson

I’m looking for a way to get the nickname [name_u]Sam[/name_u] without using [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Sampson[/name_m] or [name_m]Samson[/name_m]. I’m not a fan of either, but have been crushing on [name_u]Sam[/name_u] for quite a while. I don’t mind a stretch. Most of my nickname choices for my current favorites are non-intuitive or not obvious ones.

First few that come to mind, though there aren’t many.
Samwise
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] (pronounced [name_u]Shay[/name_u]-mus, i feel like it could be shortened to [name_u]Sam[/name_u])
Ansem ([name_u]Sam[/name_u] for short)

[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]/[name_m]Suleiman[/name_m]
[name_m]Seraphim[/name_m]
[name_m]Absalom[/name_m]
[name_m]Tristram[/name_m]
[name_m]Ransom[/name_m]
[name_m]Anselm[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]

Thank you farie!

I kind of like [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. I am a bit sad that it would completely knock one of my first favorites([name_u]James[/name_u]) off my list, but I haven’t been so in love with [name_u]James[/name_u] as of the past few months.

Thank you chrisco!
I like [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Seraphim[/name_m]! [name_m]Seraphim[/name_m] didn’t even cross my mind despite me just adding it to my list. It would be quite an unexpected full name/nickname combination.

Isambard (means “Iron Giant”)
Samwise (Tolkien)
Samoset (Native American)

Any names which contain the letters S A M would do as well (eg. [name_m]Seraphim[/name_m], [name_m]Absalom[/name_m], [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Anselm[/name_m], [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], [name_m]Artemas[/name_m], [name_u]Salem[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_m]Sulaiman[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], [name_m]Sherman[/name_m] etc… )

Thank you [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]! I like [name_m]Artemas[/name_m]. I also really like [name_u]Salem[/name_u], but the connection with the witch trials really bother me. I think it’d be pretty hard for an actual child to live with. It’s wonderful on a cat though.

What about Siam, [name_m]Isam[/name_m], [name_u]Samar[/name_u], [name_m]Samir[/name_m], Samso, [name_m]Sampson[/name_m], [name_m]Balsam[/name_m] or [name_m]Isamel[/name_m]

Oh and I just thought, maybe at a stretch [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] could work?

And when I say it, I hear a “[name_u]Sam[/name_u]” sound when I say [name_m]Kasimir[/name_m]/[name_m]Casimir[/name_m]

Or you could give him two middles and make his initials S A M like [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] or something

Is just using [name_u]Sam[/name_u] as his full name an option? I think that it is well enough established that it could be a stand-alone name!

I like just [name_u]Sam[/name_u].

The first one that comes to mind is Samaritan.

Why not just use [name_u]Sam[/name_u]?

[name_u]Shalom[/name_u], [name_m]Samaru[/name_m], [name_m]Salman[/name_m], [name_u]Salmon[/name_u].

Thank you everyone! I like [name_m]Casimir[/name_m], but only as a middle. I’m not a fan of [name_u]Sam[/name_u] as a full name. I much prefer it as a nickname.

This is probably what I’m going to do because I just can’t find a name I like enough with [name_u]Sam[/name_u] as a nickname.
