I’m a newbie here but I love this site so far! My DH and I are arguing on naming our daughter and have been since day one! HALP!
So far we like [name]Samantha[/name]. A lot! We want the name to go with [name]Jerry[/name], which I know if just a nickname of [name]Gerald[/name] or [name]Jerome[/name] but, we just want [name]Jerry[/name]. We also need this name to go with our first daughter’s name, [name]Isabella[/name]. We don’t want it to sound TOO similar and we’d like it to be longer than one syllable. But not a requirement. What we have so far…
I have a few suggestions.
First off, i feel that [name]Samantha[/name] is way too dated, but… the rest of your names are wonderful!
Here are some suggestions:
[name]Samira[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]/[name]Emily[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Alexis[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Carley[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] (maybe not this combo because of the ‘‘i’’ sounds at the end of both)
[name]Sasha[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] (i think its the best of my suggestions and goes well as a sibset with [name]Isabella[/name])
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] ([name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Zara[/name] sound cute together as well)
[name]Siena[/name]/[name]Sienna[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name] or [name]Alexandria[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]
I like [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]. Cute n n potential E.J and A.J. [name]Alexandria[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] flows well too or [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] (n n M.J.).
GREAT suggestions so far! No one likes [name]Samantha[/name]? I don’t know why we both like it so much, and it’s kind of neat to have [name]Sammy[/name] as a nick or [name]Jerry[/name]. I really like [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Jerry[/name] and [name]Alexandria[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]!
I agree with others that [name]Samantha[/name] feels a bit outdated. But I think [name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Isabella[/name] work wonderfully together!
[name]How[/name] about Samaera? I’m personally not a fan, but it seems like your style. Spelling variations include [name]Samara[/name], [name]Samaira[/name], and Samayra.
I agree wholeheartedly with [name]Samara[/name] (prn w/ mar rhyming with far). You can still have the darling nn [name]Sammy[/name], but it’s a more exotic and unique choice. Although, personally I don’t have a problem with [name]Samantha[/name]. I also think [name]Seraphina[/name] goes wonderfully.
I like [name]Samantha[/name], and don’t feel it’s too dated (it’s less popular than it was at its peak in the early 1990s, but as of 2011 still in the Top 20). If you like it I think it’s very doable! I also like [name]Amelia[/name] (though beware it’s likely to become more popular, unlike [name]Samantha[/name] which like many past-peak names will probably steadily decline for awhile).
I also like [name]Samantha[/name]. I get tired of people saying names are “dated” as if that’s a bad thing. (Someday all these floofly names they come up with will be more “dated”.) That it’s not current just means it won’t be on every other little girl she meets.
So of the suggestions so far, I’d go with [name]Samatha[/name] [name]Jerry[/name]. Very cute now, and nice on a groun-up later too.
I don’t find it dated. In fact, I have been hearing a resurgence of [name]Samantha[/name] in my area. I think it is sweet and feminine and sounds great with [name]Isabella[/name]. I also like [name]Amelia[/name] from your list. Actually, I quite like all your names, but [name]Samantha[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] would be my picks.
