Pregnant with #2 and not finding out the gender. We will possibly have less time to decide than everyone else. With all the other stresses going on, I’m worried I’m just never going to find another boys name I love.
DH isn’t helpful unless I give him a list and he says what he likes and doesn’t like, but at this point, I don’t even have a list.
Our son is [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], we call him [name_m]Link[/name_m].
My mother recently suggested [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] AND I don’t mind it. I am worried however that the [name_f]LIN[/name_f] in [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and the [name_u]LYNN[/name_u] in [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] sound horrible together. I can see [name_f]Lin[/name_f]- k and F- [name_f]Lin[/name_f] and that’s just a lot of [name_f]Lin[/name_f].
It either really works as brothers or it really doesn’t and I need opinions. If you have any other name suggestions, I’d be thankful.
I don’t think they’re too close. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] almost ends up sounding like ling-kin because of that double consonant blend. [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] is softer and terminates on the n sound. I think they sound rather nice together.
I think it’s OK given you use [name_m]Link[/name_m]. I can hear [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and Flynncoln myself so I get the concern — but they’re both cool names and often sibsets have overlapping sounds or starting letters etc.
I’ve already offered a couple of lists so I’ll leave it here but I hope you get a name or few names in time for his arrival!
I don’t hear the overlap, personally and think they sound distinct from each other (and sound good together). If you plan on having more children, you might want to think if you’ll feel compelled to keep up the pattern, though.
I don’t think [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] are too close-sounding, but I don’t know that they quite “fit” together either.
My first thought was [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] - [name_m]Link[/name_m] & [name_m]Fletch[/name_m] are really cute! But, I like the idea of a longer, more substantial name with a spunky nickname to match [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]/[name_m]Link[/name_m]. You may also like:
