Same meaning names in a sibset?

What do you think about names that have the same meaning for siblings?

Examples:
Lucia and Eleanor
Anna and Grace

I think it’s a wonderful, subtle way to connect sibling names! So long as they sound distinct enough, I think it’s a cool pattern to follow.

I think it’s fine. I prefer the names to have different meanings but it’s not a problem

I wouldn’t notice. I don’t think most people know name meanings.

I think I prefer complementary name meanings like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (moon and stars) or [name_f]Kerris[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (love and happiness).

I like it! I agree I also like connecting or coordinating name meanings. Personally I wouldn’t use them in the same name for one child for example [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (Lily Lily) but I think having a connection between siblings even as a middle name is kind of sweet, if they are distinct enough.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] -love that suggestion

I’m not against it, as long as the names have different sounds and origins. The similar meaning can create a discreet connection between the siblings.

However, I wouldn’t use them in the same combo. For example, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is too redundant for me.

Would prefer different meanings but adore [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] :tulip:

I don’t mind if they’re quite distinct from each other and not variations of the same name - that forms a subtle connection!

I don’t think it matters. Only name nerds will notice the connection and I don’t consider it a bad thing anyway! They can go together quite nicely.

I absolutely love this as a subtle theme between siblings I think it’s just adorable and really well thought out. It’s a nice way to connect siblings past the usual all the names begin with the same letter or have a y/ie ending etc

I second the previous poster :white_heart: I think it’s a lovely way to connect the names of the siblings as long as the names are not the different variants of the same name or too matchy. A lot of names from different cultures share the same meaning without being too rhymey, and it would only leave me enamoured meeting a sibset like this irl :sunflower:

A good example is a sister set - [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivian[/name_f] where all names share the same meaning without it being too matchy or too explicit :white_heart:

We know siblings who all have a middle name that comes from one [name_f]Name[/name_f].

x [name_m]Sean[/name_m]

x [name_m]Ewan[/name_m]

x [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]

x [name_m]John[/name_m]

All are variations of [name_m]John[/name_m] I am not sure if a really like it, but I guess it is okay as they are all different Names

I kind of love that. Especially as its a middle name.

I’ve been collecting some sibsets like this!! Favorites so far-

[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] & [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] (to destroy/destroyer of peace)
[name_m]Rex[/name_m] & [name_m]Laszlo[/name_m] (king/glorious ruler)
