Olive is such a cool name but it would get quite confusing to have one in the family with two Olivers so I understand why you can’t use it (and don’t recommend you do).
I once read a book where there was a girl named Olive who had an older sister named Juniper, and I thought it was a good combo, with both girls’ names having a plant theme. It doesn’t sound as similar to Oliver as Olive does, even if they’re both three-syllable names with emphasised first syllables and an -er ending. Of course, it still might not work for you, but that’s okay, it’s just a suggestion.
Also, there’s Autumn, which gives me sort of the same vibe that Olive does even though it’s a season name. Willow is another option, although to me it sounds a bit dreamier and less spunky (but then again, it’s up to you whether it works or not). Hazel could work, although it’s somewhat old-fashioned.
I know a lot of people have mentioned Rose already, and I think it might be worth considering. It’s definitely more familiar than Olive, but it’s short, sweet and very appealing. Maeve is another one I’ve seen scrolling through this thread, and although it shares no similarities with Olive regarding its origin and meaning, it does share the quality of being short and simple, as well as the dainty ‘v’ sound.
