Samuel or Samson?

It’s funny how tastes can change… I used to strongly dislike the name [name]Sam[/name], but lately I’ve been loving it! I can’t decide which longer form I like best, which do you prefer?

[name]Samson[/name]!!! It’s a really cool name and so much more special than [name]Samuel[/name].

I love [name]Samuel[/name], it’s a classic name steeped in history and while [name]Samson[/name]'s got history too ([name]Samson[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name]), I find the -son ending to be very trendy at the moment and it means a lot of people will see it as ‘just another [name]Mason[/name]/[name]Jackson[/name]/[name]Harrison[/name] name’. [name]Samuel[/name], on the other hand, will never appear trendy but will never date either.

I prefer [name]Samson[/name]. [name]Samuel[/name] is really popular where I live (a french/english community) and just seems kind of boring. [name]Samson[/name] seems to be a little off the beaten path which I like. It still has a really good meaning and history behind the name as well.

I like [name]Samuel[/name] better. [name]Samson[/name] is nice too but I prefer [name]Sampson[/name]. I would probably pick [name]Sampson[/name] over [name]Samuel[/name].

I love both names so you can’t go wrong with either one.

If you don’t mind the popularity and you want to go with something more serious and traditional: [name]Samuel[/name]
If you want something a bit more unusual, quirky, with a bit of spunk: [name]Samson[/name]/[name]Sampson[/name]

I prefer [name]Samuel[/name]. It’s got a classy, timeless feel to it and [name]Samson[/name] has a trendy one.

I prefer [name]Samuel[/name] but, both are great choices.

I prefer [name]Samuel[/name]. I find it to be a solid, handsome name with good historical/Biblical associations. Due to the Biblical story about [name]Samson[/name], I’d be concerned about comments and teasing potential with the name.

[name]Samson[/name] by a mile! [name]Samuel[/name] is over done and I prefer the -son ending to the -uel ending.
