I am currently TTC and have been completely obsessed with finding the names I love.
[name_u]Sander[/name_u] is a PERFECT honor name for my late mother [name_f]Sandra[/name_f].
I’m having trouble with a middle name I like with it. I like one or the syllables with it…probably leaning more towards 3. Here are some I considered, but they still don’t jump out at me.
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m]- last name starts with an M but I don’t think that’s an issue
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]- considered this for first son, but there’s an Uncle [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and I don’t want him to think we named after him.
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]- I don’t like that they have the same -a sound
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]- I think I like this the best with [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] close behind
[name_m]Killian[/name_m]- would be same initials as my mom, I like this name, but my mother was tragically killed. It doesn’t create a good connotation.
I love [name_u]Sander[/name_u]! Much more than [name_m]Xander[/name_m]/[name_m]Zander[/name_m], actually. I think I like [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Rome[/name_m] the best, with [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] as a second. I like [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] okay, but prefer Marinus (which seems very similar in my mind, but is much less known!), and while I love [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], I’m not sure I like [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]? I get the same feeling from [name_m]Maximus[/name_m].
[name_u]Sander[/name_u] Brave or [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] was my first idea, although I don’t think most like [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] for a boy anymore, sadly! It’s traditionally a Welsh boys’ name (one that I love!), but it’s really taken off for a girls’ name here. Or even [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Bram[/name_m]? Apparently I like Dutch names with the Dutch [name_u]Sander[/name_u]! I love [name_m]Killian[/name_m], too, but I agree that it doesn’t sound like the best option for you, especially keeping in mind how your mother passed away (I’m so sorry for your loss!).
[name_u]Sander[/name_u] Lorien intrigues me, but I think I like [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_u]Loren[/name_u] or [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] even more. Maybe [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Matthias[/name_m]/[name_m]Matteo[/name_m], [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], or [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_u]Theo/name_u?
@ashthedreamer- thank you do much. I’ve had this name rolling around in my own thoughts for so long, it’s nice to see someone else talking about it. I knew in my heart if we have another little boy, he will be [name_u]Sander[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u], but I have never put it on my list because my nephew is [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I haven’t really spoken with my OH about middle names but I think he would like [name_m]Rome[/name_m] or Lorien as well.
Oh I like the suggestion of [name_m]Theon[/name_m], I actually really like that name, I didn’t put it on my list because of the [name_u]Theo[/name_u]/[name_m]Leo[/name_m] thing. But as a mn with [name_u]Sander[/name_u], I like it. It’s going on my list! Thank you

I love the sound of [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Killian[/name_m], but I see what you mean about the first syllable. What if you spelled it [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]? [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m] would be great!
I like the sound of [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and [name_u]Sander[/name_u] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] as well.

I really like [name_m]Sirius[/name_m] but my OH has issues [name_m]Sirius[/name_m] xm radio all the time, he probably wouldn’t even consider it! Lol
I like [name_u]Orion[/name_u] as well. I also like [name_m]Severus[/name_m]. But I’m not to sure about alliteration. Sometimes it’s ok. Thank u for the suggestion

I also like [name_m]Octavian[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], and [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]. I agree with no -r beginning or ending. There are 2 syllable names I like but the name would be 2-2-2, that’s why I think one or 3 syllables would be best.
You have some great names on your list. If you want a K middle initial but are worried about [name_m]Killian[/name_m] maybe try [name_m]Kellan[/name_m], [name_u]Keegan[/name_u], or [name_m]Kendrick[/name_m].
