Sarai?

I’ve seen several pronunciations of [name]Sarai[/name] and I’m not sure which is correct or the most acceptable. They’re sur-EYE, Suh-[name]RYE[/name], ser-ie, saw-rye-ee and sur-ay. Which do you like best?
And I’m not sure how it would sound with my future last name, [name]Baker[/name].

I hear sah-[name]RYE[/name] most often, but I knew a [name]Sarai[/name] who was Latina, in Spanish it was pronounced sah-rah-ee, but she told most people to call her SAIR-ee because it was just easier for us non-international Americans. I actually like the sound of SAIR-ee more, but I think Sah-[name]RYE[/name] is gorgeous, too. Either way it’s a lovely name, although I prefer the classic [name]Sarah[/name], its meaning, and the significance of the name change from [name]Sarai[/name] to [name]Sarah[/name] in the Bible.

When I first read it I thought it would be pronounced Suh-rye

I think [name]Sarai[/name] is a beautiful fresh spin on [name]Sarah[/name]! I would pronounce it Suh-rye.

[name]Sarai[/name] doesn’t get enough credit for being an awesome name. [name]Love[/name] it, no matter how you say it. It is well paired with [name]Baker[/name]. I say “sah-rye” but I don’t think the other pronounciations are weird or wrong. Good luck

Thanks for the help. I think I would go with suh-rye since that seems to be the general consensus.
I like it for the spin on [name]Sarah[/name]. It seems so much newer.

I love the name [name]Sarai[/name]! I pronounce it suh-[name]RYE[/name]. It’s a beautiful name, that sounds fantasy-esque but not overly so.
