Scarlett: Jumping up the popularity charts?

My husband and I are considering the name [name]Scarlett[/name] for a girl (and thought we were choosing a different name). Now [name]Scarlett[/name] is on the hipster list and seems to be jumping quickly up the charts, and my heart is sinking. [name]Do[/name] you think this name is going to become very popular? I like is BECAUSE it is different.

We are thinking [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] (His name is [name]Joseph[/name]).

Thoughts?

I think [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is a magnificent name”you should absolutely use it. [name]Scarlett[/name] is moving up for sure, but she’s not in the top 100. And [name]Scarlett[/name] is not a trendy names. It’s a real name that’s been around for quite some time  So even if it becomes popular, it won’t sound dated. Go with the name you love!

Unfortunately, [name]Scarlett[/name] has soared up the popularity chart. In 2000 it was at 941, and in 2009 it was at 169. [name]Even[/name] though it took it’s largest jump from 03-04, and has slowed in it’s rise up the chart, I don’t think it has taken it’s last breath. I don’t think it will be #1, but I believe it will get into the top 100 in the next few years before it is “gone with the wind”… or it may stick around for a while.

With that being said, it is a beautiful name, and I don’t believe it is a trendy name. I just think that the Gone With The Wind movie isn’t etched into the minds of the mothers of this decade. I don’t think it is going to be as trendy as some other names that are soaring up the chart, and I don’t think you’ll be hearing it every time you turn around.

I forgot to add that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is a lovely, and strong, name! I love how they flow together. They both have the classic feeling to their name, not anything trendy about that.
