Scarlett or Charlotte

I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]’s softer sound. Its very elegant and refined, and I think it’s quite sweet. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is very bold and energetic, but it feels slightly harsher to me and I’m not too fond of that.
If you absolutely hate [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], you could choose to just call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and make it clear that there’s no nickname, but she might one day decide that she likes one of them, and chooses to go by it. If that would bother you, then I’d stick with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] so much, it’s less popular than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and it has a sweeter sound to it

I’d go for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. It’s more unusual and I like the glamorous vibe via [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] O’[name_f]Hara[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] Johansson. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is pretty and very classic. However, I worry it will become ubiquitous, especially with there being a young [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], who is sure to get loads of media attention as she grows up.

Charlotte

Honestly they both come off as popular to me. Each have been very trendy lately- [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] at #21 and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] at #6 that I feel these days any personality will fit either name. And in regards to sweetness they both are obviously almost identical to one another that they carry the same amount of “sweet and feminine”. Based off of your reservations for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] I’d pick [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] unless your last name was some sort of color.

I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

I love both! I slightly prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] feels sweeter.

Well, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is one of my favourite names now, which is sort of ironic because [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] was my favourite name when I was younger. I just love the sweet and princessy vibes that [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] gives off + the fact that honors someone I love dearly. So I’d say [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but you can’t really go wrong with either.

I truly love both, but I love the softer sound of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] more. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] isn’t my favorite nickname for a girl, either, but I do think [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] is sweet. If I ever used [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] I’d put it as a middle name. Although [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is a beautiful color, I’m not a fan of Scar as a nickname.

I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]

I prefer [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] feels tired for me as I know so many, but [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] feels spunky and fresher to me

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] more

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sounds sweeter to me. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is sweet, girly, pretty, elegant. I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] sounds more down-to-earth, but it an earthier, sassier, sharper way. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] doesn’t sound snooty, though, just refined. I like them both, but ultimately, I’d rather be a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] because,
A.) [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], even though I like it when it’s said quickly, strikes me as kind of harsh, if you draw out the sound. And
B.) [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is classic. Though very popular right now, it won’t be timestamped in the future. I think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] will have faded in ten or twenty years.
Oh, and I don’t think you have to worry too much about [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (as long as she doesn’t choose one) [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]’s only two syllables, so people won’t get tired of saying it in full. Besides, by the time she’s old enough to ask to go by a nickname, she’ll probably have outgrown Lottie, at least. I can’t imagine one older than seven. Anyway, better than Scar.

My name and nickname

I’m following this thread because I love both! I go back and forth all the time. Scarlett’s an old love of mind, but Charlotte has gripped me lately with her beauty.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is classy and I love the nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], but it can be a bit prim sometimes. The witty spider in [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s [name_m]Web[/name_m] always makes me cry, so it does hold a special place in my heart.

Whereas [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is fiery, but the "Scar’ syllable is harsh. However, I feel like most Scarletts are just [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. Also, the nns [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Red[/name_u] are stunning.

If I were braver, I’d pick [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], but since I feel safer with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], I’d probably end up going with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] :spider: :spider: :spider: :spider_web: :spider_web: :spider_web:

I much prefer [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]!!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice too but it has a very southern & young vibe to it (to me at least). And that’s not a bad thing of course, I just prefer the romantic mature [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]

I much prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]” is the dream :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is my second time coming to this post-

I said [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but then I realized in some eyes, [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] right off the bat seems like a fiery, intense, adventurous name which might not be the vibe you’re going for. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is all around probably the sweetest name you can think of. However, it is quite common. If there’s another [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] in her class, one might go by [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] or [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (based on personal classroom experience.) I think if you want something fresh but still calm, then may I introduce [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f]? I knew 2 and one went just by [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f]. The other sometimes went by [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] (pronounced lot-ee) but not all the time. There’s a difference between a pet name and a nickname. The one who went by [name_f]Lotte[/name_f], her parents didn’t like the name but her friends gave her it. Of course, they didn’t call her [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] all the time, but it was still a fun name. [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f] is more likely to get the nickname [name_f]Lotte[/name_f], but it’ll be fine if you just say “Oh, we just like the name [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f]/e, we aren’t using the nickname [name_f]Lotte[/name_f]” and people will respect that. Either way, both [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f]’s always say how others adore their names! [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_f]Charlotta[/name_f] are all wonderful names!

Charlotte is the older sister; kind, gentle, sweet, and reserved. Scareltt is the younger sister witty, spunky, and outgoing.
