Both are gorgeous, but I prefer [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. I know one [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and she is 22 and one [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and she is 29. Yes, I think both names go very well with your other girl names. I particularly like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] together and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] together.

This is hard since both are beautiful! [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] fits more with my personal style. I don’t know any [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]'s or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]'s. I had an elderly family member named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], but she is deceased.

Thanks for all your help everyone. The poll is currently tied so not an outright winner yet.

I think these names are pretty much on the same wavelength in terms of style, prettiness and nickname ability. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] can get Scar, [name_f]Carly[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarla[/name_f]; [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] can have [name_m]Rube[/name_m], Rubes and Ru/[name_u]Rue[/name_u].

I did pick [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] though because I love it just that 1% more than [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. I know 0 [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]'s and 2 [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]'s.

I don’t know a [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but I do know a [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. It is my teacher’s daughter and she is 3 or so. I love both so it is hard to choose. I honestly like the nickname Scar. It’s really out there but that’s what makes nicknames fun.

I think I prefer the dainty feel of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] to the more spunky feeling of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. Over the past couple of years, though, I would have said [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] over [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], because I’ve liked [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] for a really long time. I think I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] a little more with your favorites, too.

I chose [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] because I see it as more polished whereas I see [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as more of a spunky name (not my style). That being said they are both lovely.

I personally know 3 of each, all under the age of 4 (2 of each are infants under 6 months). They are not all in the same region of the US (PNW and South)

To me [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] has more of an elegant, softer feminine edge and sounds more Classic. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] seems more in your face.

Both are SO cute!!! I chose [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - it was on our list, but my husband said no. It’s also less popular than [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] I think
