I think any of those three would work fine, especially [name_m]Callan[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m].
What about:
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]/[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Cormac[/name_m]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]/[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m]
[name_u]Niall[/name_u]
[name_u]Noel[/name_u]
[name_m]Killian[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]!
There are actually youtuber whose children are named: [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f]!
When I saw the poll the first thing I thought of was [name_m]Caelan[/name_m], which is a name I absolutely adore. It’s similar to [name_m]Callan[/name_m] but brings something different I think. I like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] but it is quite popular where I live, maybe not where you are though and Carrick will always be a surname to me.
[name_m]Callan[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] should work fine. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] feels more Scottish to me. I encountered loads of them in Edinburgh this summer.
I love [name_m]Callan[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m]. My first thought was [name_m]Cormac[/name_m].
I can’t imagine [name_m]Callum[/name_m] being unheard of!
Both [name_m]Callum[/name_m] & Carrick go well with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] imo. [name_m]Callan[/name_m] is probably my favourite, but it ends with -an, like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], which would put me off. What about [name_m]Connor[/name_m] / [name_m]Conor[/name_m]? It’s not as unusual as Carrick or [name_m]Callan[/name_m], but feels like a twin name to [name_m]Callum[/name_m].
[name_m]Cormac[/name_m] (another Gaelic name) sounds great with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and I’d also suggest [name_m]Dougal[/name_m] / [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], though they don’t begin with a C.
[name_m]Cairn[/name_m]
[name_m]Craig[/name_m]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Clyde[/name_m]
[name_m]Callan[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] should both be recognizable in your small town. I would also add [name_m]Conall[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Craig[/name_m], [name_u]Carson[/name_u], and [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. Slightly less recognizable, but still pronounceable, are Carbrey and [name_m]Cailean[/name_m].
Looking elsewhere in [name_m]Britain[/name_m], you might also like the Welsh names [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m], [name_m]Cadoc[/name_m], or [name_m]Cadogan[/name_m], and the Irish names [name_u]Carey[/name_u], [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_m]Colman[/name_m], and [name_m]Connor[/name_m].
My favorites to go with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] would be [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m], [name_m]Conall[/name_m], [name_u]Carey[/name_u], and [name_m]Cadoc[/name_m].
[name_m]Cullen[/name_m] is a current favorite of mine. It seems to fit with your other choices and it’s Irish.
[name_f]Adore[/name_f] [name_m]Callum[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the peace association with the meaning.
love [name_m]Callum[/name_m]
Thoughts on [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]?
I voted for [name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_m]Conlan[/name_m] might be a good choice for you.
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_m]Conroy[/name_m]
[name_m]Connory[/name_m]/[name_u]Connery[/name_u]
[name_m]Callahan[/name_m]
[name_u]Casey[/name_u]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u]
I like [name_u]Camden[/name_u] and [name_u]Casey[/name_u] with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].
We named our son [name_m]Callum[/name_m] last year and I love it. We live overseas (near Australia) so the name is familiar to most expats we meet. However people have more problems with it when we’ve been home to the US. Not big enough to put me off the name in any way, but it’s less familiar to people. A few people pronouncing it like “column”, for example. I just tell those who struggle to call him [name_u]Cal[/name_u]. If the name is new for someone, they inevitably say “oh, that’s nice”, so it’s not so strange that it puts people off.
as @catzixo suggested I also love the name [name_m]Caelen[/name_m] and would like to suggest it
I would recommend [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m]! I think it’s a very handsome and lovely name. Of your options I love [name_m]Callum[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Callum[/name_m], a strong and classic boy name.
Thank you all for the great idea and insight! I am leaning toward [name_m]Callum[/name_m] (found out last week that we are officially expecting). I like the suggestions of [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] but I can’t get Hubby on board with it! Now onto coming up with some girl names
