I could use some help in coming up with some options for a boy baby name. We have a 2 syllable Scottish last name, and we are committed to the MN [name_m]Geoffrey[/name_m] (family name). Here is what I have right now, and I would love some suggestions:
I like [name_m]Callum[/name_m]. [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] are great, too.
Thank you guys! I really like [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], and I had looked at [name_m]Evander[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_m]Evander[/name_m] Holyfield has made that name a one-person name?
PS I love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]!! And [name_m]Evander[/name_m] seems over the top but [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are good substitutes.
My favourite Scottish name is [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] which is a form of my own surname. I also like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (Irish rather than Scottish, but the tree is associated with [name_f]Scotland[/name_f]) and Cowan (first syllable rhymes with cow/now/how but I’ve heard it as low/know/crow).
Others I don’t think were mentioned and I think could be usable:
[name_m]Alan[/name_m]
[name_m]Arran[/name_m] (like the island)
[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m]
[name_m]Clyde[/name_m] (like the river)
[name_u]Finlay[/name_u]
[name_m]Gordon[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Iain[/name_m]
[name_m]Kirk[/name_m]
[name_u]Niall[/name_u]/[name_u]Neil[/name_u]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] (like the island)
[name_m]Mungo[/name_m] (maybe not that usable but I kinda like it )
[name_u]Murray[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_m]Ross[/name_m]
