I like [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u], particularly if you have a longer surname

Thanks, nora! We have a two syllable surname.

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] flows so nicely together - I love its Irish flair!

@kyemsma: Thanks, I like it too!

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is handsome.

I love [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]! It’s my top boys’ name with the [name_m]Seumas[/name_m] spelling;) I voted for [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u], but I think that neither is quite… sturdy, I guess would be the word, enough to fit behind [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], which I think is a very noble name. Whatever you choose, though, will be wonderful!

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] is what I prefer!

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. I voted [name_u]Reid[/name_u] but like both.

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] is on my short list, too! [name_f]May[/name_f] I ask what state/country/region you live in? I’m from the South & have pronunciation concerns.

I prefer [name_u]Reid[/name_u] mainly because [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] just sounds like it’s missing the O’. It’s super duper Irish sounding, almost a tad cartoonish if you’re not Irish/[name_u]Reilly[/name_u]'s not your surname.

@snowdrop4: What other suggestions would you have for a middle with [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]? I’m open to ideas!

@pdelmazo: We live in [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] right now, but we’re originally from Pennsylvania and planning on moving back north soon. I’m not sure if any region of the US would be better at pronouncing [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] than any other region, though. My view is that any reasonable person who knows how to pronounce [name_m]Sean[/name_m] should also know how to pronounce [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], and I think that [name_m]Sean[/name_m] is pretty well known.

@kala_way: I kind of see your point about it feeling like it’s missing an O’. But I feel like most of the time when you say your middle name you also say your last name, so it would be kind of obvious that [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] wasn’t his last name.

Thanks for the response! Congrats on your son!

No problem! Haha I’m not even pregnant yet, just getting a big head start.

I’m going with [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u], but I like them both. Very Irish!

A lot of the names in my signature are names that I would consider for middles to [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. But really, that’s just my personal taste:)

@snowdrop4: [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] is actually another name on our fn list, so I wouldn’t want to use it as a middle! I also just thought I’d mention that I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] from your lists! I would really like to use [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] as a fn, but I know I never will because of the popularity of the other spellings/variations.

[name_f]Glad[/name_f] you love [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] too! And yes, [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] - so beautiful, but so sadly popular!

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u] is so lovely, the flow is so handsome.

I like [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]!
