Searching name for sister to Idgie Mae!

My two year old is soon to be a big sister! Her name is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (Idgie) [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. We loved how strong the name was and of course the strong character of Idgie Threadgoode in FGT. She has lived up to the name being born one month early during a blizzard!

So with that being said, I need another unique strong name for our next girl! Due [name_u]August[/name_u] 31, we have it down to three so far,

[name_f]Iona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]

Middle name of either [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u].

Any other suggestions would be great too!

Thank you

Some other ideas…

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] sounds lovely.

I really like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]!

I really like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. Maybe with the nickname [name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Delia[/name_f].

I also like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] with [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f].

All of your options are great, but I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] with [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is gorgeous! I also quite like [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. I don’t really think you need more options, but another name that has the kind of strength you are seeking is [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_u]Joan[/name_u] (after [name_u]Joan[/name_u] of [name_m]Arc[/name_m]) could be an alternate to [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] for the middle, but I [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is strong too.

I love your daughter’s name! I immediately thought of FGT when I read it.

I have to go against the grain here and say that I think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] goes just perfectly with Idgie [name_f]Mae[/name_f]; they are just too cute together! I like that both middles are months too.

To be completely honest about my associations with the names, I’m not sure if I like the [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] combo with Idgie. Idgie just reminds me of a totally awesome kid, who is strong minded and a bit of a tomboy. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] for me connotates a bit of a girly “princess”.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f], called “[name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]”!!

In all seriousness, though, [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be wonderful!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Lula[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f]

I think it’s a perfect fit  and a gorgeous name!!

I have to agree with the crowd here, [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] would be absolutely stunning alongside [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. I like that [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] both have a vintage feel and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has plenty of nickname possibilities.

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (could be “[name_f]Mamie[/name_f]”)

[name_u]Love[/name_u] Idgie [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. From your top choices I like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. Agree with jessie that [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is frilly/a little uptight next to [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] for me, but that may not be true for everyone.

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] nn [name_u]Neely[/name_u]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]

I like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] best off your list.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Huldah[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Hester[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

My vote’s for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] both offer the cute nn’s of CJ and AJ if that means anything to you.

I also love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] from your list with sister [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. Both [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] make great mns too.

Wow, thank you all for all the suggestions and insights! It means a lot!
