Based on this chart, would it be strange to have the following names to represent each season? Would it be better to use all seasonal names in different languages ([name_f]Talvi[/name_f], [name_f]Suvi[/name_f], etc.) or use only one seasonal name & then use other parts of each season to represent them?
[name_f]Spring[/name_f] - [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Mai[/name_f] or [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f] - [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Juni[/name_f], [name_f]Junia[/name_f] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] - Шinikᴀ
I’m a little confused as to what your asking? Are you asking if it’s ok to use multiple seasonal names? Like ‘[name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]’ [name_u]Or[/name_u] have multiple children named seasonal names like sisters named [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] & [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]? (Forgive me if I totally misunderstood I’m Running on 2 hours of sleep today!)
If it’s the latter I wouldn’t use all seasonal names, (aka [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Summer[/name_f] & [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]) but I would say a sibset of [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]June[/name_u] & [name_u]Harvest[/name_u] would be fine
I love all of them, with the exception of [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. It’s not really my jam, but [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is adorable, and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Junia[/name_f] are .
@ethelmary Thank you. I just wasn’t sure which approach to take. This helps firm up my decision on this a bit more.
@katkabet As they are going to be MNs and special months to me, would that be an exception?
@LibelluleClaire Multiple children with seasonally-related names. The last part of your reply definitely helps.
@Ellory [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] is a bit more mundane to me in comparison to the rest of my names, but the only other [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] name I’ve found I really like is [name_f]Jora[/name_f]. Unfortunately I’m not sure how much it fits with my other names.
@Greyblue Thank you! That sounds like an excellent idea. I know a couple of them are going to be MNs for sure, but I wasn’t sure of the possibility of having the other two as FNs together.
In my opinion, [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] are lovely names, but it’s really obviously seasonal. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] I love, and I don’t know but it just doesn’t scream “I’m named after a season!!” as much as the others. [name_u]July[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] for girls are really seasonal but [name_u]August[/name_u] for a boy isn’t so much. I also love [name_u]June[/name_u] for a girl and it’s beautiful. I’ll make a list
Too obvious: [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]July[/name_u], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]April[/name_f], and [name_u]August[/name_u] (f)
I love: [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and [name_u]August[/name_u] (m)
@eleanore3 Thank you. I do love the more subtle nature and season names so this makes plenty of sense. I agree on [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], for some reason it doesn’t scream “I’m named after a season!!” as much to me either.
I think it’s because [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] isn’t the “main name” for its season. Since almost everyone calls it Fall, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] isn’t as strong. Whereas [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] are just said all the time and it’s impossible to ignore the season name.
I really like [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
I really like the portuguese version of spring and autumn: [name_f]Primavera[/name_f] (peer-muh-vair-uh) and outono (auw- tho-nU)
@Mar Thank you! [name_f]Primavera[/name_f] is great, but it is too tied to an online school in my area and that’s all I can think about when I hear. I hadn’t heard Outono before, but I will be adding it to the list… I really do like it as a more subtle (for my area) variation of [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].
If it’s something like [name_f]Spring[/name_f], [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] then I would say no. But if it’s [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Junia[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_f]Winika[/name_f] then it’s fine. What about [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], [name_f]Blossom[/name_f], [name_u]Aki[/name_u], [name_f]Jora[/name_f] or [name_f]Apricity[/name_f]?
