[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are both handsome, and I like the middle names too. So just by the nicknames, I prefer [name_m]Axel[/name_m] to [name_m]Buzz[/name_m]. It’s adventurous but still has that classy vibe to it. [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] seems a bit odd among the other classic nicknames of your children. It’s more cowboy / country seeming.

I like the nickname [name_m]Buzz[/name_m]. Sounds kind of retro clean-cut to me. I voted for [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].

I like both. Slightly prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]!

Both are so handsome! I prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], cause i like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] a tad bit more than [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Axel[/name_m]!

I love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! In my area there are a million Alexanders (who all go by [name_u]Alex[/name_u]) and zero Sebastians so to me it’s more interesting. I think [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] is an adorable nickname! You may also like the nickname [name_u]Ash[/name_u] (my personal fave).

Thank you to everybody who has voted and commented so far!

It’s interesting that you think [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] has a cowboy/country vibe. I grew up in the country, but I don’t get that vibe at all! When I hear [name_m]Buzz[/name_m], I think of [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] Aldrin and [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] Lightyear (and the [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] from the Home Alone movies, but he was a jerk…), which in turn makes me think of outer space. I’ve always loved the cosmos, so both are definitely positive associations. (There was that movie called Space Cowboys, though!)

Retro clean-cut! Yes, that’s definitely more the vibe I get from [name_m]Buzz[/name_m]. It may not fit exactly with our other kids’ nicknames, but they all have different vibes to me anyway. [name_m]Liam[/name_m] is modern, [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is timeless (with a twist since [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is the more classic spelling), and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is vintage old Hollywood. I’m not sure what I would call [name_m]Axel[/name_m]…

[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are pretty much equally popular in our state (and are actually more popular than [name_m]William[/name_m]!), so popularity wise, it probably doesn’t matter which one we choose.

[name_u]Ash[/name_u] is a nice name, but my husband’s sister’s name is [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]. She’s often called [name_u]Ash[/name_u], so it wouldn’t really work for us. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

I prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]!

Both are really great names, so its a tough one, [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is a longtime favourite of mine, and nn [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] is soon cute! However [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] is a fantastic name (love [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]!) and I love [name_m]Axel[/name_m] as a nn for it. If it was a choice between [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] I would definitely go with [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] however this time my vote went for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], although tbh you can’t go wrong with either name.

Great options! Congrats on a little boy on the way

I think [name_m]Axel[/name_m] flows a little better with your other kids’ names. HOWEVER, I feel like YOU love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]/[name_m]Buzz[/name_m] more, and you should go for it! It’s a great choice.

I love both names (especially those middles), but I’m just over the moon about [name_m]Buzz[/name_m] for [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]! [name_m]Axel[/name_m] is a great name too, but I’m not really feeling it as a nickname for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. Guess it just seems weird to rearrange the letters when you’ve got [name_u]Alex[/name_u] right there.

I think I prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_m]Axel[/name_m]! [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is a very nice name though. Would you consider having the best of both worlds: [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]?

Use the one that your daughter picked–what a cool story to tell him as he grows up!

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “[name_m]Buzz[/name_m]” [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is perfect.

I far prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]

Thanks, everyone!

That does seem like the obvious solution, doesn’t it? I do like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but I’m just not “wowed” by it. We’ve made it a point to give our children middle names that are unexpected; using [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as a middle feels filler-y and kind of boring. Switching it around to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] makes it a little more interesting, but I don’t love it as much as [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m].

Haha, it would be a fun story to tell!

According to the poll, it looks like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is the clear favorite! I think we probably will stick with it. It’s just sad to give up on the thought of ever having a [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. Then again, it would be sad not to have an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], too. And an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. And a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. And a [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]… Gah, I wish I could have a dozen kids!

I adore both [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but I prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] in the sibset.
[name_m]William[/name_m], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] are perfect together.
