At least, I think. And I think I could be pretty happy with any of these. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is always impossible for me to pair up when she’s a fn, and I’m not sure I’ve ever had a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] combo I’m fully happy with. I’m over-the-moon happy with the first middle ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]), but I’ve been torn with the family name to pair with it. Here are my options, and the concerns I have with all three. Which do you like best?
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]: I’m not sure what my issue is here, honestly. Maybe I’d like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] more?
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]/[name_f]Helene[/name_f]/Hélène: One of my favorite ways to honor my sister (who has a [name_f]Helen[/name_f] variant for a MN), but I’m not sure this is the right place for these. I say them HEH-len-ah, heh-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-neh, and ay-[name_m]LEN[/name_m] respectively; [name_f]Helene[/name_f] is Danish (for the strong Danish roots with my parents), and Hélène is [name_m]French[/name_m], in honor of my [name_m]French[/name_m] best friend.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]: Not really related to my sister’s name at all; it was just her “name” in Spanish class, and I feel like even my sister wouldn’t get that [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]'s in her honor. I feel like it might be the most cohesive combo, though.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]: I’m just worried that [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] makes [name_u]Eden[/name_u] stick out like a trendy sore thumb.
Any you would axe completely because of my concerns?
100% [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! Such a fantastic combo! It looks and sounds gorgeous.
My #2 would be tied between [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Helene[/name_f].
TBH the least cohesive sounding to my ears is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], though I adore [name_f]Sofia[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] – this works better to my ears than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u], maybe because having [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] following [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are two “big” names in my opinion so [name_u]Eden[/name_u] provides a pause. While [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] are stylistically different, the do share a lot of sounds between them and that pulls me away from the combo.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] – I think this works best, with the stress in the middle of “heh-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-neh”. It seems to provide balance and pacing for the combination and I love that it honors family connections. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] Hélène or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] comes across as very staccato / fast to me.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] – Has nice flow, but I feel like it does come across as compilation of popular / trendy names – not that that’s a bad thing, but yeah. I prefer the previous two. I also want that “ee” sound that is shared between [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] to not be there because it makes the name go quickly.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] – I actually like this. Each name is very different in sound which makes the progression of the overall combo smooth for me; the sound compliment without need for similar sounds. That said, I don’t like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] imagery-wise together. It’s very pearly gates, religious-toned to me OR very “dear” to me.
So: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] is my first choice with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] as the runner up.
Thanks, ladies! I should also add that I’ve not yet completely decided on my [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] combo, and the options for that are [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] (or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] Hélène–I love the accents and the [name_m]French[/name_m]-ness of Hélène, but I think [name_f]Helene[/name_f] sounds much better), [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] Cécile, and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like Hélène/[name_f]Helene[/name_f] and/or [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] better with [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]? [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] already honors five family members, between military service and my mom’s green thumb, so I’m not as concerned with family honoring there.
I think [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] and [name_f]Helene[/name_f]/Hélène/[name_f]Helena[/name_f] are pretty much out with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]–I just don’t like the sound of [name_f]Helene[/name_f]/[name_f]Helena[/name_f]/Hélène with [name_u]Eden[/name_u], and I don’t find [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] honoring enough. That leaves me with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], which, honestly, I’m still not sure about. For some reason, I’m just not excited enough about them. [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]/[name_u]Rue[/name_u], and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] are other family names I’d considered, but I’m not sure I’m wowed with those, either? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any of those with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]?
I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
