I love the idea of using two middle names. I have just one middle name, but my partner has none so we kind of like the idea of giving our kids two middles.
For a boy we’re loving [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but struggling to come up with a second middle.
For a girl we really like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - just so you can get an idea of our style.
[name_m]Otto[/name_m] is on our list for a future boy. We also use two middles.
Our [name_m]Otto[/name_m] would be short for [name_m]Ottavio[/name_m] but go pretty much exclusively by [name_m]Otto[/name_m]… Our top picks are [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] (family names)
All of these are bear related names which I think is fun for a boy.
Might I also suggest putting [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] in the second middle place. I think that rhythmically a 2 syllable followed by a 3 syllable middle is part of what makes it hard to find a second middle. Anything shorter than [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] feels like it drops off to me. A 2, 2, 3 rhythm (or even 2, 1, 3) might help open up the possibilities. For instance:
I’m definitely not opposed to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] in the second middle place, it’s a name to honor my mother so I’d just want it in there somewhere.
I do really like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a really great name.
One of my good friends recently used [name_m]Pine[/name_m] as a middle for his son. His sister has taken to calling her new nephew “pine cone” which I find really endearing.
I like [name_u]Linden[/name_u] suggested above. Another tree one, [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Slate[/name_u]?
[name_m]Lennox[/name_m] means ‘elm grove’ if that helps.
