Selah/ Sela

What does everyone think of this as a name?

I think it’s short, sweet and rarely used. I’ve heard the name pronounced two ways depending on the spelling.

[name_f]Sela[/name_f] - “SEE-luh” - a Biblical place that means “rock” (like actress [name_f]Sela[/name_f] [name_m]Ward[/name_m])
[name_f]Selah[/name_f] - “[name_m]SAY[/name_m]-luh” - a Hebrew musical term in the Old Testament

[name_f]Selah[/name_f] and [name_f]Sela[/name_f] are two different names with different pronunciations.

I adore [name_f]Selah[/name_f] for its soft sound and biblical connection. [name_f]Sela[/name_f] doesn’t appeal to me but I don’t dislike it

[name_f]Selah[/name_f] is gorgeous, but I’m not sure how to pronounce it. [name_m]SAY[/name_m]-luh, or SELL-uh?

Oh, mischa, I just saw your comment. In that case - yes, [name_f]Selah[/name_f] is quite stunning.

[name_f]Sela[/name_f] (prn. [name_m]SAY[/name_m]-luh) is on my list thanks to my hubby. We like different and unique names, and this is one he found from his favorite show [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek. Was worried about someone thinking it was like [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] with an S because it sounds the same.

I like [name_f]Selah[/name_f]. Pronounced Seh-lah (like say-lah, but not as strong on the first syllable). It’s a bit of a GP name for me since my husband would never agree to it and it’s too close to our daughter’s name.
