Which of these celestial/ heavenly names is your favorite? Is there another you like better? Why? Which name ages the best? Which do you like the least? Why? What do all these names make you think of? Negative associations with any of them? Are [name_f]Selena[/name_f] and [name_f]Celine[/name_f] too tied to celebrities to use? Any other comments? Opinions?
[name_f]Selena[/name_f] or [name_f]Celia[/name_f] are my favourites… I slightly prefer [name_f]Selene[/name_f] over [name_f]Selena[/name_f], it also helps remove it from [name_f]Selena[/name_f] Gomez. I never liked the sound of [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], and [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is really trendy in Norway so I can’t love her. I’m also not fond of the connection with [name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_m]Dion[/name_m] at all…
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] would age best in my opinion, it’s the one I would be most likely to use as well.
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] is my absolute favorite… but I also love [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]!
[name_f]Selene[/name_f] or [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is also sweet but I don’t like [name_f]Celine[/name_f].
[name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and [name_f]Estrella[/name_f] are some otherlovely options with a celestial feel.
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] is my favorite!
I like them all, but they have very different images in my mind. I suppose I like [name_f]Celine[/name_f] least, mostly because of the celebrity connection and personal taste. [name_f]Selena[/name_f] feels graceful and sophisticated, [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] feels fresh and bright, and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] feels spunky and smart. (I think I was in the minority when it came up before around here, but I greatly prefer the [name_m]Seel[/name_m]-ya pronunciation of [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. See-lee-uh takes all the pep out of it for me.)
From favorite to least:
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celine[/name_f]
I really love them all though, I would probably only use [name_f]Selena[/name_f] & [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] though. Maybe [name_f]Celia[/name_f] if SO really loved it. [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is beautiful but is too tied to [name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_m]Dion[/name_m] for me, esp. everything that’s going on with her right now. My favorite that you haven’t listed is [name_f]Selene[/name_f]. There’s also [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Estella[/name_f], and [name_f]Celestine[/name_f].
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. The sound is so gentle and lovely and soft, it subtly implies/evokes the heavens without being too in-your-face about it ([name_f]Celestine[/name_f], [name_f]Celestia[/name_f]), and it’s untainted by pop culture associations (for [name_f]Selena[/name_f] I just think the singer who died in the '90s, and then Gomez; [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is nice and [name_m]French[/name_m] but it’s too [name_m]Dion[/name_m]). [name_f]Celia[/name_f] has good associations with the character from As You Like It, but I also think of the snobby character from Weeds and don’t think it is inherently as pretty as [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], anyway.
My vote’s for [name_f]Celia[/name_f].

My favorite is [name_f]Celina[/name_f] which isnt on the list but is in the ballpark.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Celia[/name_f], it was #2 on our list and almost became our baby’s name. It means “heavenly” as all little girls are. [name_f]Celine[/name_f] and [name_f]Selena[/name_f] certainly have associations to certain singers, but they are not negative associations so use them if you like them. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] sounds lovely as well, you really can’t go wrong. I just personally gravitate towards [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. I also like how [name_f]Celia[/name_f] was a character in old English literature. It adds another interesting layer to the name.
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] is by far my favorite. I just find it lovely, classy, and underused. For me, yes the celebrity associations with [name_f]Selena[/name_f] and [name_f]Celine[/name_f] are very strong. (altho I have [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] on my list, so I shouldn’t talk. I think when you fall in love with the name, you stop associating it with one person)
[name_f]Celine[/name_f] is my favorite, and I’ve always associated it more with the fashion house than with the pop singer. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is a close second
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] is lovely and my favourite from your list. I live in a [name_m]French[/name_m] part of [name_f]Canada[/name_f] so [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is almost unusable here because it’s too tied to [name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_m]Dion[/name_m]. [name_f]Selena[/name_f] is nice too, but I prefer the spelling [name_f]Celina[/name_f]. Have you considered it?
