I’m looking for a sister to [name_m]Invictus[/name_m], and I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] would be so, so perfect, and I love [name_m]Invictus[/name_m] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] together. Unfortunately, I only sort of like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] by itself. I can’t name a child a name I don’t adore just because it goes with her sibling’s name, so that’s my mission. I want anyone who loves the name [name_f]Verity[/name_f] to brag about how amazing it is and try to help me love it too.
Secondarily, I would also like general thoughts on [name_m]Invictus[/name_m] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] as a set. I love the shared V and the positive meanings, and even though [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is a bit more mainstream than [name_m]Invictus[/name_m], I think they’re so lovely.
Thirdly, the point of this post is not to ask for other brother and sister name suggestions for [name_m]Invictus[/name_m], so if you don’t have any ideas off the top of your head that’s completely fine, but if you’re already responding, and happen to think of a suggestion, I’d love to hear it.
Please answer kindly. Thanks in advance.

Okay, I really love the name [name_f]Verity[/name_f], but I don’t really have a reason
I just think it’s really pretty and has a cool meaning.
it really does go with [name_m]Invictus[/name_m], but if you want something else, I think [name_m]Freedom[/name_m] or [name_f]Harmonia[/name_f] could go nicely with [name_m]Invictus[/name_m]

My main sell for [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is the meaning!! I also love how it sounds like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] (which is very popular in my area) but is more uncommon!

Oh [name_f]Verity[/name_f] nn [name_f]Vita[/name_f] is so cute! I love so many of your suggestions, but my favourites with my [name_f]Indy[/name_f] are Dianthus, [name_f]Amity[/name_f], and [name_f]Apricity[/name_f]. Thank you so much!

They do work nicely because of the shared spiky V sounds and coordinating meanings.
I wondered if you’d considered [name_f]Veritas[/name_f]? Still beautiful but feels more in-step with [name_m]Invictus[/name_m] in terms of boldness.

This is a small thing, but [name_f]Verity[/name_f] has a fairly interesting and diverse literary record: Agatha Christie, Winston Graham, and Terry Pratchett all happen to have used this name in their works, as did—and this may interest you!—J. K. Rowling for a minor Harry Potter character.
I feel like these associations give her an intriguing image—a little vintage, a little witchy—yet at the same time, [name_f]Verity[/name_f] does not feel tied to anyone or anything in particular; her beautiful meaning shines through first and foremost.
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] comes to mind as a possible sister for [name_m]Invictus[/name_m]. She is a little more “mainstream” like [name_f]Verity[/name_f], but may also feel a little more ancient than her alongside [name_m]Invictus[/name_m]?

One of our daughters is called [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and I adore it- kind of wish we’d saved it to use as a first name for a future baby but didn’t want to risk not having another girl and missing out on using it altogether!
Things I love about it-
- spunky sound with the V and y
- Meaning- truth
- 3 syllables so sounds pretty and feminine but doesn’t actually have very many letters so it’s easy to write on forms etc
- Fairly unusual but intuitive to say and spell
- Links to lots of different literary characters
- [name_f]Bright[/name_f] and cheerful sound- try saying it in a grumpy voice and it’s nearly impossible to make it sound anything but joyful

I’m glad to hear that you think they go well together. I did consider [name_f]Veritas[/name_f], but it’s one of the very few names where I actually like the female version better. I’ll definitely have to use it for a character though. Thanks!
You’re absolutely, I forgot about that character, and it actually does make me like it more, thank you!
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is definitely a bit more austere like [name_m]Invictus[/name_m], great suggestion. Thanks!

What I like about Verity…
- vintage with a bit of cosy
- but spiky and energetic at the same time
- nicknames [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Vita[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Vee[/name_f], [name_m]Tee[/name_m], Riri
- feels familiar but not overused
- a pleasing flow and i like the -tee ending
[name_m]Invictus[/name_m] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] do make a cool and virtuous set. I quite enjoy the repeated sounds – how they link but sound distinctive. There is a bit of me that is bothered by the difference in popularity but [name_f]Verity[/name_f] isn’t in the Top 100 so I think I’d get over it.
If I were naming sibs to Invictus…
[name_m]Whittaker[/name_m]
[name_m]Viridian[/name_m]
[name_f]Clarity[/name_f]
[name_m]Requiem[/name_m]
[name_m]Beowulf[/name_m]
[name_f]Remedy[/name_f]
[name_m]Caliber[/name_m]
[name_m]Captain[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Verity[/name_f] she’s elegant, timeless and wholesome with pretty cottagecore imagery. I love that she’s a familiar name but unexpected with a graceful flair along with a beautiful meaning ‘truth’ I think she’s gorgeous.
