I discovered the name [name_u]Senna[/name_u] last night which was listed as a unisex name. It comes from the senna plant which bears bright blue flowers year after year and is an Arabic name means ‘brightness’. I like the blue for boys connection and also discovered there was a really famous racing driver (Formula One?) named [name_m]Ayrton[/name_m] [name_u]Senna[/name_u] who some say was one of the best of all time. What do you think? And what could be possible middles?
I think [name_u]Senna[/name_u] could work for a boy, especially with a traditionally masculine middle.
Senna [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m]
@almostactually thanks. The flow sounds better to me with one syllable names, at least for those you listed. I like [name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] and given the growing popularity of [name_u]James[/name_u] for a girl in the middle, might be seen as more gender neutral. Alexander is a name I was considering as a mn but not sure it flows so nicely with Senna, given the ending in an a and starting with an a sound.
I like it. I first heard it in a celebrity birth announcement last year and thought then that it was a cool, interesting name.
One of my favourite boy names is [name_u]Sasha[/name_u], which is similar in sound, so here are some of my fave middles for it with [name_u]Senna[/name_u] instead:
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Fabian[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Florian[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Isidore[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Constantine[/name_u]
@katinka unfortunately the linked is blocked for me (content not available in my region) but thanks for sharing. This is cool. [name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] made me smile with the racing driver image in my mind and the word dash.
I am wondering about [name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Azure[/name_u] but maybe it’s too much of a blue theme. Or [name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] but that might look too feminine? The problem is I prefer [name_u]Skye[/name_u] spelled that way to [name_u]Sky[/name_u].
I just got chills. There is a plant called [name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is my middle name. I had been thinking of using [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as a self honoring mn for a boy, especially as there are not many options for [name_u]Haley[/name_u]. I wonder if [name_u]Senna[/name_u] could be considered a more subtle way of honoring. @almostactually had suggested Alexander as a mn, but I am not sure it flows well with the ending in an a and starting with an a sound.
Ooh, I like [name_u]Senna[/name_u] for a boy!
Senna [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Pablo[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Senna[/name_u] [name_m]Ruben[/name_m]
While I think [name_u]Senna[/name_u] is a great name - it’s also a medication to help people poop, which would make the name unusable for me personally
@Ehrob1 Nooooooooo… cries. That would be very tease worthy.
Pharmacist here… yes- it’s aN over-the-counter medication Used for constipation. Sorry- would not recommend
I really like it! The [name_m]Ayrton[/name_m] [name_u]Senna[/name_u] association gives it a really cool vibe - but the constipation medication kinda ruins that
I know. I am really disappointed by that. I was starting to really think that this was a cool option but now it feels completely unusable.
