[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’m posting for some family friends who need help on a baby name for their daughter. The mother is [name_m]French[/name_m] while the father is Spanish, their last name is Spanish as well. However, they can’t decide between the spelling of [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] or [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]. Their families seem pretty split on it, so what are your guys thoughts? If it helps, they live in [name_f]England[/name_f]. Thank you advance!
I would honestly go with Saraphina it is spelt better than. But if I had to choose out of your suggestions, I would go with [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]!
I personally prefer the [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] spelling.

[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] is also nice but -especially in the UK- I’d go with [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]. It’s hard to explain, but I think it looks rougher, more mysterious and magical. In my mind, [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]'s the name of a powerful witch (probably influenced by the His Dark Materials trilogy), whereas [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is a princess. I just prefer the former haha.
I prefer the look of [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] but since the father is Spanish then [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] would be a nice nod to his culture. Either way it’s a beautiful name!

[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] for me - I think it looks more delicate and whimsical, and I agree with @girlywhirly about it being a nod to his heritage.
In terms of living with it in [name_f]England[/name_f], I’m not sure either spelling would be easier. [name_m]Just[/name_m] because it’s not a common name and people would probably have to get used to it anyway . . . and the F does make a lot of sense with the Spanish thing.

When I hear this name I automatically think [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].

I prefer PH to F. So I like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
Personally I favour [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] (it’s my top choice for a girl, so I am biased). [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is like… a middle ground between [name_m]French[/name_m] Séraphine and Spanish [name_f]Serafina[/name_f], and it works great in [name_f]England[/name_f].
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] for me! I love the more pared-back, spirited look of it, and it fits much better with the awesome fiery meaning [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
I agree with @myosotis and @morning_glory. [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] is magical, she’s a little dark but girly. [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is princess-y and almost royal like. I like both and it really depends on what mood I’m in. The main reason I usually lean towards [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] is because it honors my Italian heritage. It’s also the Spanish spelling so it’s a nice nod to the father’s heritage too.
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] is my favourite.
I’m normally very decisive about spelling but not in this case.
