Seren Valentine (Stevie) or Daphne Maria?

Third time poster on this subject, sorry! But you’re all so helpful and creative.

Absolutely torn between [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_u]Stevie[/name_u]. We love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] because it’s so pretty and unusual. It’s also the name of my favourite author ([name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Du[/name_f] Maurier) and our son is named [name_m]Truman[/name_m] after [name_m]Truman[/name_m] Capote. It’s definitely a marmite name though, and most people seem to associate it with Scooby Doo!

Also love [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] because [name_m]Truman[/name_m] wants to call the baby [name_m]Steve[/name_m] (!) and [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] Nicks is a very cool namesake. However, we would want a more girly alternative (not [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]) for if she decided she didn’t like [name_u]Stevie[/name_u].

So, after much deliberation:

Daphne [name_u]Maria[/name_u]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (my OH’s mum is Welsh so [name_u]Seren[/name_u] being a Welsh name is an added bonus)
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]

Both SV names nn [name_u]Stevie[/name_u]. All middle names are significant in my family.

Any thoughts, wise Berries? Xx

Love [name_u]Seren[/name_u]! I think giving your daughter the option of a girly name is a good call. I prefer [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] to [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] flows better. Have you considered [name_f]Vera[/name_f] or [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u]! So elegant and timeless, and it fits better with your son’s name to me. The literary link is sweet and meaningful too

That said, [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is a lovely combo and I like the nod to your Welsh heritage.

I much prefer [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u]!
[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] is funky, I am a fan. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is my pick from the [name_u]Seren[/name_u] combos

I really like [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], but I don’t think it has that girly factor your looking for, it comes off as quite unisex. Have you considered using [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]? It also sounds very sweet. Lots of people have family nicknames that have nothing or very little to do with their actual name, so I think you could use [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] regardless.

Seren [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is gorgeous! I agree with another poster that [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] leans a little too gender neutral for my tastes, but if you like it, go for it! As for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u], it is lovely, but I do definitely associate [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] primarily with Scooby Doo.

I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]!! [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] would be a very original nickname. I adore that there is a beautiful story, meaning and/or connection behind all your choices.

Good luck!

I like all your options, which isn’t a very helpful opinion, but I think you can’t go wrong. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] would be my pick by just a hair if I had to choose. I like the nod to the Welsh side and slightly prefer [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] to [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

I am thrilled you’re considering [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! I feel like it’s so often overlooked! It’s a real shame because it’s so charming and kind of preppy (in a good way!).

Seren [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] ‘[name_u]Stevie[/name_u]’ is amazing!

This is soooo hard! [name_u]Seren[/name_u] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are both on my lists so I can see why you would have a hard time.
I love the literary connection between [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_m]Truman[/name_m]. I also feel [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is over looked and is a stand out gorgeous name.

Seren is gorgeous and comes with nickname potential. It also ties in a sweet sentiment from her big brother. I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] as I feel like it’s a little more unexpected in the mn spot

My heart would probably go with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] slightly ! As in doesn’t have the same sounding “n” ending

Daphne [name_u]Maria[/name_u] is gorgeous

Seren has a gentle and ambient quality. I would go with that one. What about a more mainstream middle? [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is very pretty.

Seren is stunning and I especially like it paired with [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]. [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] is adorable.

Ooh, this is tricky! [name_m]Just[/name_m] in terms of picking a name for [name_m]Truman[/name_m]’s sister, I think I’d go with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] by a hair. I love the way they sound and feel together. The previous suggestion of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] sweetens the deal for me–I find [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] to be a more interesting mn than [name_u]Maria[/name_u], although [name_u]Maria[/name_u] is lovely. But I know you love the nn [name_u]Stevie[/name_u], and [name_u]Seren[/name_u] would be such a great way to get there. Unexpected, gorgeous, plus it has a lovely meaning. With [name_u]Seren[/name_u], I much prefer [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]; I think that combo flows better, and I agree with previous posters that [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] could be unisex (though I think I would assume girl). Also, with something as unique as [name_u]Seren[/name_u], I think classic [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] makes a great anchor. All things considered, I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (if that’s an option!) would be my very favorite for you, followed very closely by [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] gets my vote!

I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]!

Gonna have to vote [name_u]Seren[/name_u] being welsh myself

I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u] for you!!

I say [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u]. I love the name [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] but I don like [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. I also love [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] but I feel like it needs a softer FN to go with it, [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] a little too much.
