Serena outdated?

I came across [name]Serena[/name] (just now), and I decided I liked it. What do you think of it? Is it out dated or granny-like? What sort of middle names would you pair it with?
Thanks Berries! (:

Not at all… I love it… Very pretty

I actually find it refreshing and cool. It’s not as fluffy as [name]Serenity[/name], but still has the same feel to it.

[name]Serena[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Eve[/name]

I love it. I don’t know any [name]Serena[/name] above the age of 30 so it’s definitely not an old lady name for me.

I’d pair it with one-syllable middle names:
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Lark[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Dawn[/name]

Not at all outdated. [name]Serena[/name] is a lovely name!

Some of the combo’s I came up with:

[name]Serena[/name] [name]Arden[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Carolina[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Edith[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Theodora[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

Y’all are convincing me to put it on my short-list!!
**What kind of look or personality would you think a [name]Serena[/name] to have?

I would associate the name [name]Serena[/name] with a very feminine, beautiful & classy girl. Also a cute & lively person comes to mind when I think of this name.

Yes, [name]Serena[/name] is dated. I think it’s one of those names that wouldn’t sound weird on an infant/young child even with it being dated. [name]Serena[/name]'s a beautiful name. What about [name]Seren[/name]?

I have a friend with this name in her 30s who is super spunky, athletic and has a HUGE heart of gold. I also know a teen with this name that is angry, volatile, and just not fun to be around. So… it’s hard to say!

[name]Serena[/name] makes me think of Bewitched, but I still like it and don’t think it’s outdated at all. I also like [name]Selena[/name], which has a similar sound and means moon, which I’ve always thought was a lovely meaning to bestow on a baby girl.

Due to a bad personal association I don’t picture it as old lady-ish. I tend to think of [name]Serena[/name] as a spoiled, mean little girl. I also think I never liked the name, even before it went really sour to me.

Definately not! [name]Serena[/name] is beautiful. To me, it isn’t as spunky as [name]Seren[/name], but not as girly as [name]Serenity[/name]. A good balance if you ask me!

[name]Serena[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Niamh[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Payton[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

I don’t personally know a [name]Serena[/name], but I think of a girl with tanned skin, light brown hair, blue eyes who is very friendly but wild.

[name]Serena[/name] makes me think of two things:

  1. [name]Sailor[/name] [name]Moon[/name]
  2. [name]Serena[/name] [name]Williams[/name]

I don’t care for the associations with it, even if it is a pretty name, but everyone is different.

I can only think if [name]Serena[/name] [name]Williams[/name] which takes away all the feminine and serene qualities to the name. The name actually feels very harsh to me because if her. I picture a little [name]Serena[/name] to be very bratty and annoying, an always gets her way type but maybe that’s just me. I think [name]Selena[/name]/[name]Celina[/name] is a thousand times better.

I think [name]Serena[/name] is a beautiful name! [name]IMO[/name]…Importance on “dated” names is not relevant. If you love a name you should use it and your child will make their own statement from their name. Some beautiful flows might be

[name]Serena[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Renee[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Evette[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Monet[/name]

Wow, very mixed feelings on the name! I actually do not like the name [name]Selena[/name], reminds me too much of the Disney star. Bratty and spoiled or cute and lively! Haha okay (:

er… NO! I think gossip girl has made it more popular too.

[name]Serena[/name] is beautiful, conjures up thoughts of a peaceful lake or forest. Maybe paired with a less conventional middle name

[name]Serena[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Candide[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Lael[/name]

As a fan of [name]Serena[/name] [name]Williams[/name] (she can be volatile but I love her anyway and the tennis world would be poorer without her ), I’ve always like this name.

Also a [name]Serena[/name] [name]Van[/name] Der Woodsen in Gossip Girl.
Also a [name]Serena[/name] [name]Macgregor[/name] in some [name]Nora[/name] [name]Roberts[/name] book.

I do like [name]Serena[/name], but prefer [name]Seren[/name] more. But the latter’s going to cause pronunciation troubles in the US, so if I have to choose between them for a real kid, I definitely would go with [name]Serena[/name].
[name]Both[/name] [name]Serena[/name] and [name]Seren[/name] have their own beauty to it. I do like [name]Serene[/name] above all three of them, but that’s hard to live up to, as is [name]Serenity[/name] [name]IMO[/name].
