One of our top contending names is ‘[name_f]Elara[/name_f]’ which is apparently pronouced ‘EE-luh-ruh’, but I would have never thought to say it that way in a million years. My husband prefers the pronounciation ‘EE-lair-uh’ while I pronouce is as ‘[name_f]EL[/name_f]-awr-ah’. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_f]Elara[/name_f]?
eh-LAWR-uh or ee-LAWR-uh
I say [name_f]El[/name_f]-ARE-uh. The ‘ar’ sound rhymes with car, bar etc.
Somewhere between Ee-lar-uh and el-ar-ruh (ar/lar rhyming with car)
I would pronounce it E-lawr-uh
I would pronounce it EE-lawr-a
I would say EE-lar-uh
I actually know someone with a baby daughter named [name_f]Elara[/name_f]! Though I haven’t heard the mother say her name, I’m under the impression that it’s pronounced eh-LAR-uh with LAR rhyming with jar or far.
[name_f]El[/name_f]-lar-uh
Pretty name that fits in and stands out!
I would say the same
I would say it eh-LAR-uh
Anyway you wish.
Let her decide when she is older. My daughter’s name is [name_u]Fallon[/name_u]. I pronounce this as Fall lyn. Husband calls her the correct pronunciation as Fowl uhn. She pronounces it the way I do and is now an adult.
I like the El-awr-ah one. That makes the most sense to me.
I second this pronunciation
I’d say it as uh-[name_m]LAW[/name_m]-ruh.
Thanks all!
