Shea - boy, girl, or unisex?

The name [name]Shea[/name] popped into my head today and I kind of like it. [name]Do[/name] you think it is more of a boy/girl or truly unisex name? I only know one [name]Shea[/name] and she is a girl. I am expecting a boy and don’t want to consider it if it seems too feminine. Thoughts?

I know two Sheas - one is a boy, the other is a girl (but it’s a nickname for [name]Cheyenne[/name], and I’m not sure if she spells it [name]Shea[/name] or [name]Shay[/name]). As far as I know, the boy was never teased for it, so I think that it could work (though I might be hesitant to use it since it contains “she”…).

i think it sounds more like a girls name because of the "A’ at the end…

I think it’s unisex but leaning more towards the girl side. The only [name]Shea[/name] I’ve ever known was a girl though, so that’s probably why.

I have to say girls name for sure, it is a very feminine sounding name.

I definitely think of a girl. I don’t think I even knew it was technically “unisex.”

I know one [name]Shea[/name] who is a girl, so in my mind [name]Shea[/name] is more feminine. I can see it on a boy, but I prefer it on a girl. I also think of [name]Shea[/name] Stadium (where the NY Mets used to play) so I guess that makes it a bit more masculine to me, making it plausible for either gender.

I went to school with a boy named [name]Seamus[/name] nn [name]Shea[/name], and also know of a little girl named [name]Shea[/name], so it’s unisex for me. I think just [name]Shea[/name] is okay as a full name for a girl where I’d prefer it as a nickname for a boy though. What do you think of [name]Seamus[/name]?

I adore [name]Shea[/name]. I’m considering it for my son. I don’t think of a girl, at all. To me, [name]Shea[/name] on a girl is likeable to [name]Casey[/name] on a girl. Not classy or elegant at all. Honestly, I think it sounds kind of trashy and cheap.

I’d love to use it as a first name for my son but I also like it paired with one of my favorite names, [name]Jasper[/name]. So, I’ve been throwing around [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Shea[/name]. I think it was sort of fate, because as I was narrowing down my looooong list and thinking of [name]Jasper[/name] middle names that I loved as greatly as [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Shea[/name] was the Name-Of-The-[name]Day[/name].

[name]Shea[/name] is more of a boys name to me (maybe a nickname of [name]Seamus[/name] or [name]Sean[/name]). I knew two boys named that growing up (had a crush on one, but he was much too old for me).

[name]Seamus[/name] is cool, but our last name ends in “is”, so it would sound weird together. I have also always loved the name [name]Angus[/name], but can’t do that name either.
