Short names similar to Josie?

I love the nickname but I’m not a fan of Josephine/Josette/Josaphina. I’m also not Jewish so I’m a little worried about going with Josephine or Judith. I already know a Joyce/Joy though so that name isn’t an option :frowning:
I’m looking for similar short names and I’d really like a cute nickname!
I also love the name Noelle but that’s my cat’s name haha
As for middle names I was thinking Marie, Sylvia, or Evelyn. I don’t have a lot of middle names I like, I don’t know if I’d want to go with Josephine for a middle name though. My last name starts with a T and it’s two syllables so I want something that flows well.

I’m not sure the name Josie would sound very mature though which is why I was also considering Josephine. I really love short and sweet nicknames, I just don’t know what would go well with my last name since there’s an X in it. I thought about Julia or Michelle but I feel like they’re too boring and they don’t sound great with my last name, I’m not a fan of Olivia, Emily, Emma, etc. I prefer classic names. I also don’t want any names of people I already know.

Other names I vetoed: Wren, Ren, any names with Anna in them (The name is a personal trigger for me so I’d like to stay away from it), Amelia, Celia, Wendy, Mary, Katie, Jennie, Allison, Maeve, Vivian, Samantha, Jade
Thank you!

Edit: Just remembered that Josie and the pussycats exists lol, a little less set on the name Josie now but I like short names. I’m also considering the name Katrina nn Kit but I could always go with Katherine/Kathleen as well. Edit2: Thought about the hurricane, crossing Katrina off my list and considering Katherine as an alternative. Finding baby names is harder than I thought, so much stuff to consider

I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] can totally stand alone as a name. I know of a little [name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]!

[name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is really sweet! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] grounds [name_u]Josie[/name_u] a bit, and I think it would be great with your last name.

Maybe you’d like [name_f]Joelle[/name_f]? I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] could be a cute nickname for this too!

I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] can stand alone! It feels substantial to me  I also think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is perfectly usable for you too so long as you like it enough:)

I thought of the name [name_f]Joelle[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nn Josy/Josie maybe?

A few other suggestions:

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] “Milly”
Elsie/Eslpeth
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
Ginny/Ginevra
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f] “Evie”
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] “Millie”
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

I love [name_u]Josie[/name_u]! What a sweet name. I will say I’ve met many people named [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] who are not Jewish (I didn’t even realize this was a predominately Jewish name). Is that your only concern with using [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]?

I think most [name_u]Jo[/name_u] names - [name_f]Joelle[/name_f], Joslyn/Josalyn, [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] - would work with [name_u]Josie[/name_u], but I’m not sure they’re your style if you like more classic names.

Oh I wasn’t aware [name_f]Joelle[/name_f] was another variant! I don’t want any family members to get her name confused with my cat so probably not haha.
I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] though, I thought about shortening it to [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a standalone name but it could work as a nickname as well. I’m not sure if I like it enough to commit to it though.

I know a couple Josephine’s and a [name_u]Jo[/name_u] so I don’t want to do something super popular and know a ton of people with the same name. I like looking at the lower lists for popular names but I haven’t found anything I like as much as [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. I know there’s the similar sounding [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] but I don’t like flower names that much. I’m also just not a huge fan of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but I like the nickname [name_u]Josie[/name_u] more than the full name, I’m not sure how well it would age. I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] but I don’t want any chlamydia jokes.

Ooh I do like [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], not sure of any nicknames for it though.
I love [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] but I do know one who goes by [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I’m in a similar boat with [name_f]Evie[/name_f], I like the nickname but I don’t like many of the full names very much besides [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] but my brother’s name is [name_u]Evan[/name_u] so maybe it sounds too similar? Idk I’m overthinking a bit here lol
I have considered honor names which would be [name_f]Sue[/name_f] or [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f] most likely, but I’m sort of ehh on them.
