Hey everyone! I don’t know if this has ever been done before, but I’m going to start a short story competition on nameberry! The sign-up deadline is in 24 hours. After that, I’ll give you the entry deadline and further details. As a note, there is no reward for winning. It’s just for fun!

Prompt - Use these lines in your story:
“____, I don’t believe in dragons,” I stated, like I had a million times before. “And, by the way, come flood or fire, I won’t go.”

If you are sure you will participate, choose that option. If you are only considering, chose that option. You can change it later once you decide for sure. I’ll select about 1/3 of the people who sign up, because otherwise I’m afraid there will be too many stories to read.

When your story is finished, you’ll PM (personal message) it to me.

2 questions:

  1. We’re allowed to change the pronouns right? (Like the ‘I’ can be you/he/she/they/a name/etc)

  2. For the PM do we send the whole story in the messages, do we use something like google docs, or is it whatever?

I want to participate but how will it be judged? When do we need to have the story done by…oh wait we will get the details in 24 hrs :wink:

@Arythia It’ll be about 5000 words, more or less. Whatever you think a short story ought to be.
@AvyPepps Of course you can change pronouns. The whole story will be sent in messages so that no personal information will be shared (like it would in google docs).
@diamondestiny Yay!
@EJpuddlejumper I’m going to make another thread so I can choose a second judge (I’ll be the first). We’ll agree on the winner.

For everyone who signed up, I’m making another thread to get more participants. I guess 24 hours wasn’t enough time.
