I love underused, old school names in general, but I’ve been digging a lot of short and sweet ones lately. Which of these short “old lady names” would you consider usable on a little girl today? And what short and sweet vintage names would you add that haven’t had a resurgence in popularity yet?
*I also think if you’re seriously looking at using any of these names in the future that you could definitely use [name_f]Etta[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]!
So hard to choose! Edith/Edie, [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] were my choices in the end, but [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], and [name_f]Della[/name_f] were close seconds!
I voted [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f] / [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as my favourites, but I also really like [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] are sweet, and I defs think all are usable.
[name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] are stunning! I can easily imagine a little girl born nowadays with those names.

[name_f]Claudia[/name_f] was my paternal grandmother’s name! I don’t see it come up too often. We know a little [name_f]Maude[/name_f] and I love it! [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] are great, too.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] so much. Someone I know just named their girl [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] otherwise I would LOVE to use [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] in the future.
I love a lot of these. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] is a favorite! [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] have been growing on me.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f] and [name_f]Effie[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother’s name was [name_f]Rita[/name_f]! But spelled Rhetta for some reason.
