My sons name is [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] and I’m thinking about future sibling names. We picked [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] because it’s a strong name, it’s not very popular but is still clearly a name, and the “ton” ending sounds nice with our one syllable last name. [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] was a name I didn’t fall in love with right away, but as time went on and the more I saw it the more I grew to love it. His full name means bright, happy, and blessed, and he’s lived up to his name! He’s a very happy, content baby. So I’m looking for a name that has a name with meaning, that’s strong, and has cute nickname possibilities.

I like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] :slight_smile: for a sister, I like [name_f]Emberly[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] best from your list. [name_f]Emberly[/name_f] sounds happy and energetic to me, like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] does. For a brother, I’m torn between [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] and [name_m]Daxton[/name_m]. I kind of like the B beginnings both names share, but I also like the different beginnings with the same endings, especially since you said the -ton sounds nice with your last name.

I don’t have much time right now, but I just want to say I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]! It is one of my favourite boy names. I am so pleased to hear of someone who has named their son this :).

Thanks! I’m surprised [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] isn’t more popular, it’s a great name. I think it will be up and coming over the next few years. I lean towards [name_f]Emberly[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] for a girl as well. His mn is [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Emberly[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] has the same feel. But I wonder if there isn’t another perfect name that isn’t as popular like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] that I haven’t found yet.

Okay, I have to ask. Is the [name_u]Brighton[/name_u], Pemberley connection due to Pride and Prejudice? If it is, I love it! If not, don’t let my weird little observation deter you. It’s very subtle!

Anyway, as a Pride and Prejudice fan I have loved Pemberley for a long time. You might also like [name_f]Pema[/name_f], whether as a full name or a nickname to Pemberley. I just think Pemberly, nn [name_f]Pema[/name_f] is adorable! There’s also Pem/[name_m]Pim[/name_m] as a nickname. I’m not sure how I feel about the flow of Pemberley [name_u]Rey[/name_u] though. Perhaps it is the spelling, since the -rley ending is so close to [name_u]Rey[/name_u]? I love each name individually, I just don’t know that they work best together… [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about:

Or really, [name_f]Pema[/name_f] with anything. I just love that name. It feels like a diminutive of Pemberley, shares its sound with the classy and stylish [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but doesn’t suffer from [name_f]Emma[/name_f]'s over popularity. I felt like I made such a discovery when I first read this name and added it to my list.

Your other girls names are equally lovely and suit [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] very well. I especially love [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. What beautiful combos!

While I like the boys names you listed, I don’t really feel like they are the same style as [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]. If you aren’t worried about creating a cohesive style, then just go with the name you love. Maybe it’s just me, but [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] and [name_m]Daxton[/name_m] seem a little more “trendy” while [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] seems more posh and classic.

The [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] / Pemberley connection is a happy accident. Though I do love Pride and Prejudice. I do like Pemberley [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I’m not normally a fan of [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but they sound nice together! Pemberley gets a lot of mixed reviews on here, but I love it! I like the nickname Pemmy/Pemby as well!!!
