Sibling for Dorothy

My daughter’s name is [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and we are currently in the process of coming up with names for our son. We are leaning towards [name_m]Olivier[/name_m], but I need validation that these names go well together. I am very open to suggestions. My requirement is that the name be 3 syllables and my partner wants it to be [name_m]French[/name_m].

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is so cute! [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] is lovely for her brother, but I think that it will constantly get mistaken for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. Which is super popular. It’s a great name though, so if you really love it, go for it. It’s worth the risk.

A few other suggestions:

[name_u]Adrien[/name_u]

[name_m]Bastian[/name_m]

[name_m]Frederic[/name_m]

[name_m]Julien[/name_m]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] so much!
[name_m]Olivier[/name_m] is lovely as well and I like it with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. It would constantly get confused with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], though I personally can’t decide if that’s a deal-breaker or not…

[name_m]Olivier[/name_m] would be a wonderful choice.

[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is one of my all-time favs! So pretty and classic. [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] is a great and handsome choice, however it most likely will be confused for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] a lot. That wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me, but if that would bother you I wouldn’t use it. If it doesn’t bother you, go for it!

I think it depends what country you’re in. In the US [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] sounds foreign whereas [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] sounds familiar. But it might be different in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] or the UK.

Other ideas:

[name_m]Aurelien[/name_m]
[name_m]Julien[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucien[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthias[/name_m]

[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] sound great together. I don’t know if you use nicknames but I think [name_f]Dot[/name_f]/[name_f]Dotty[/name_f] and Oli sound super cute together

Since [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is a rather dated name I looked up some old fashioned boy [name_m]French[/name_m] namesand came up with thefollowing.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] & Wendelin
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] & Francisque
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] & [name_m]Johannes[/name_m]

[name_m]Damien[/name_m] came to mind quickly!
