Sibling for Holden!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone - this forum was helpful for me last time I was pregnant, and we just found out we’re having another baby. I’m starting to put together my lists for this time and would love some more inspiration. As noted in the subject line, our son’s name is [name_m]Holden[/name_m] [classic male two-syllable middle]. Last is three-syllable British-sounding ‘ham’ name.

Right now for boys, we’re thinking of [name_m]Winston[/name_m], as it’s a family name on both sides and we love the nickname [name_u]Win[/name_u]. Thoughts on that name, and the pairing? Another that we were considering was [name_m]Ansel[/name_m].

Girls we’re not so sure about (again!). We generally like classic but not super widely used names, or really different names. On our list (which changes all the time) currently are: [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], Sorana and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. I REALLY need girl inspiration!

[name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

Congrats.

The only [name_m]Winston[/name_m] I know is a bird (my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s Cockatiel, that is around 20 years oldl), so I automatically think of him.

[name_m]Holden[/name_m] and: [name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_m]Weston[/name_m], [name_m]Ramsay[/name_m]
[name_m]Holden[/name_m] and: [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f]

I like [name_m]Winston[/name_m]. Also [name_m]Wilson[/name_m], but you’ll lose the “[name_u]Win[/name_u]” nn.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] lovemysweeties suggestions of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

What about [name_m]Holden[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? [name_m]Holden[/name_m] and [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]? [name_m]Holden[/name_m] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]? [name_m]Holden[/name_m] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f]?

[name_m]Winston[/name_m] is a fine name. The only issue is that it shares the same “n” ending as [name_m]Holden[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] too. From your girls list, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_m]Holden[/name_m] and brother… [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], [name_m]Lennox[/name_m], [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] (instead of [name_m]Winston[/name_m]), [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Russell[/name_m], [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_u]Douglas[/name_u], [name_m]Fraser[/name_m], [name_m]Griffith[/name_m], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_m]Garrett[/name_m], [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]

[name_m]Holden[/name_m] and sister…[name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Antonia[/name_f], [name_f]Davina[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]/[name_f]Celia[/name_f] (instead of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]), [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Daniela[/name_f], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]

Thanks, guys!! I see some great suggestions in there.

Re: the ‘n’ ending on [name_m]Winston[/name_m] - do you think it’s too matchy with [name_m]Holden[/name_m], or would it be ok? I keep getting the vibe that [name_m]Winston[/name_m] is often used as a pet’s/dog’s name. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys find that as well?

Some of the boys names were on our list last time - [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], so most of the suggestions are our style for sure. One of the things I’m cautious about is to use a ‘trendy’ name (such as [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], etc.) as I think it would tip [name_m]Holden[/name_m] into sounding more trendy than classic and masculine, if that makes sense. I think that’s why [name_m]Winston[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] appeal to us. I do like [name_m]Weston[/name_m] quite a lot - [name_u]West[/name_u] is a great nickname.

Ok girls! Some awesome suggestions in there. My favourites are: [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] (though DH vetoed that one last time) from [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]'s list. Nameweary: I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. Absolutely love it. That was another one that DH unfortunately vetoed. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is also one I’d consider, though it’s also a friend’s name.

lovemysweetie - [name_f]Maya[/name_f] was on our list the first time around. Now it’s gotten a bit too popular in our area, unfortunately. I love the timeless quality of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], but I think we want to go with something a bit more uncommon.

[name_m]How[/name_m] strong do we think the [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and Garfunkle song association is with [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]? I also think that [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is the most well-matched pair with [name_m]Holden[/name_m] at this point.
