Looking for new baby names. Big brother is Holden. I love formal girl names with cutesy nicknames.
Some names I like are:
Emilia Jocelyn
Emmaline Louise
Maren Emilia
-Emmie(I love this nickname but Em- names are common amongst family and friends and I worry that this trend will date quickly)
Jocelyn Vale -Josie (Vale and Holden both mean valley and we live in the mountains, so I like that connection)
Asher Joel
Gideon
Thank you for your help! Everyone on here is so creative at this!
I know a sibset of [name_u]Holden[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] would be cute with the nickname [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]

[name_u]Holden[/name_u] & [name_f]Violet[/name_f] “Vi” or “Lettie”
[name_u]Holden[/name_u] & Seraphina/Seraphine “Sera” or “Phina”

I am currently expecting a baby boy we are naming [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] so I am obviously partial to that choice! I also love [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] for a girl. If my baby was a girl they would’ve been named [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] so maybe that could be another choice for you as a name that ends similarly to [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] and has the [name_f]El[/name_f]- sound to replace [name_f]Em[/name_f]- since you like [name_f]Em[/name_f]- names but feel they’re too common in your family.
[name_u]Holden[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] is so handsome!
Here are my thoughts on what you’ve got so far:
Girls-
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] Jocelyn-Ooh, that’s pretty. Smart & vintage & grows up well. I love the nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f] for [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. [name_u]Holden[/name_u] & [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_u]Holden[/name_u] & [name_f]Millie[/name_f] are perfect.
[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] Louise-For whatever reason, I really prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I think that it looks softer & sleeker. Less clunky than [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]. [name_f]Em[/name_f] names and [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] are just way over done in general.
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] Emilia-I like [name_f]Maren[/name_f]. It’s smart & simple but not over done. Feels like a good match w/Holden & [name_u]Stacy[/name_u].
Emmie-I’m not into [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]. It’s too cutesy & just like I said…way over done.
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] Vale-That’s kind of cool. Smart & strong & different but still feminine. [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is sweet too.
Boys-
[name_u]Asher[/name_u] Joel-I like it. Super cool & easy going & fits really well w/Holden. Maybe kind of tricky w/your ln though. I like [name_m]Joel[/name_m] as a fn!
Gideon-Gideon is cute. Sometimes I think it’s a little too geeky, but maybe not. It’s interesting.
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is lovely!! [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_u]Vale[/name_u], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] and [name_u]Asher[/name_u] [name_m]Joel[/name_m] are nice too
