Hi! Our son is Milo Alfred. If we have another son, we have our name- Louis (call him Louie)
But for a girl- I’m trying to choose between:
Lucy
Willa
Mae
Pearl
June
Rose
I also like Edie but probably wouldn’t use it.
Names I like but can’t use: Eloise, Olive
I love the middle name Louise but may go with my mother’s name for a middle- Adele.
Our last name is Van Cleve.
This will be our last child.
I love Lucy and think it’s cute with Milo. Love the nickname Lu or Lulu. Not sure if it’s too popular.
I think Willa is beautiful and ethereal.
Mae looks the best with Van Cleve in my opinion but I feel like I may want a bit of a longer name. My name is marie and I think she’d have to hear what I’ve heard my whole life- “that’s my middle name”, lol
Pearl is beautiful. I love the simplicity. I’d call her sweet pea. I know of a Pearl and feel like I’d be copying a bit. I’m a weirdo but I don’t think P names go that well with our last name but I think I could get over that.
June is classic and goes well with Milo I think Juni is cute! Don’t love J names with Van Cleve either. My favorite initials with our last name are M and L
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] goes really well with [name_u]Milo[/name_u]- especially [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are adorable.

[name_u]Or[/name_u] are you thinking you’ll only have one more baby, so it’s either/or? Because they’re all sensational, but I wouldn’t use them together.
[name_f]My[/name_f] very favorites on your list are [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], & [name_u]June[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] sounds and looks best with the last name. I like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] if you’re only having two kids. If it ended up as a [name_u]Milo[/name_u], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and then a [name_m]Louis[/name_m], I like it less.
Only because you welcomed suggestions, I’ll throw some on here… but your list is awesome, and you don’t need them.
I’m going to jump on the [name_f]Willa[/name_f] bandwagon, too. It sounds adorable with [name_u]Milo[/name_u]. With your middle name choices, [name_u]Louise[/name_u] would fit better with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] than [name_f]Adele[/name_f] since [name_f]Willa[/name_f] ends in an ‘a’ and [name_f]Adele[/name_f] starts with an ‘a’. Same ending and starting letters for names usually don’t flow well together when trying to speak them.
Have you considered using [name_f]Mae[/name_f] for a middle name? I think it sounds very lovely with [name_f]Willa[/name_f], flows really well off the tongue, and fits in perfectly with [name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_m]Alfred[/name_m].
The only issue (pretty sure it’s a non-issue) with the initials WLVC and WMVC is that they are also acronyms for Women Lawyers of [name_u]Ventura[/name_u] County, [name_u]West[/name_u] [name_u]Liberty[/name_u] Veterinary Clinic, and [name_u]West[/name_u] Michigan Veterans Coalition. I also have a ‘Van’ surname and my first name begins with the letter K so my four initials end up being a call sign for a radio/tv station. Assuming you live in the United States, with [name_f]Willa[/name_f], that association may happen, too, since all radio/tv call stations start with either a K or a W to differentiate east or west of the Mississippi [name_u]River[/name_u]. I’ve never been bothered by it, I think it’s pretty cool. I get to be my own radio station.
Lucy Clementine was going to be Milo’s name if he was a girl! I agree that Willa Mae flows better. I do like the way Louise sounds with Van Cleve. The reason I was thinking Adele is because Alfred is my father’s name so then both kids would have their grandfather and grandmother’s name. My mom is obsessed with Lucy Clementine so maybe that’d be a better way to honor her than Adele, lol.

If we happen to have another daughter, [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] will likely be her name as I still just find it incredibly charming. We get compliments on Lucy’s name consistently, which has made me love her name all the more to hear others love it also. We personally actually only know one other [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], so we haven’t found it to be too popular. For you, I would look no further than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] It is likely one of the sweetest combinations I’ve heard, no wonder your Mom adores it! By using [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], I think that is the perfect way to honor your mother without using her given name.
I also love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] as it seems to have a very similar style to [name_u]Milo[/name_u]. Yet, for some reason I have a difficult time saying the two names together. I get somewhat tongue tied. I accidentally say [name_f]Mila[/name_f] rather than [name_u]Milo[/name_u] and [name_u]Willow[/name_u] rather than [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

I just adore [name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] and I think you can’t go wrong with [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Edie[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is lovely too, as is [name_f]Mae[/name_f], but those four are just perfection. I would find it very difficult to narrow it down but if it were me, I’d probably go with [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u]. It sounds like [name_f]Edie[/name_f] isn’t really an option though so my pick is [name_u]June[/name_u], in part because it goes better with [name_f]Adele[/name_f] (which is lovely by the way) than [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] does. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] and [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] make such a sweet, complementary sibling pair!
