Sibling for Theodore

Can’t decide between [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] (middle name [name_f]Grace[/name_f], nn Lily). I think I like [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] better but maybe [name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] goes more with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (Theo)? I also really like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f].

I have no ideas for boy names. We like [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] but it’s a little too Bridgerton right now (especially with the possibility of Eloise). Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

Lovely selection of names!

So I have a Lilia therefore of course I am really drawn too Lilianna/Lilya they are both really gorgeous. I am a sucker for Lily names. Regarding Lilya I do prefer this sound in comparison to the elongated Lilianna however I’m not keen on this spelling. I think Lilya just looks a little off almost like a spelling error (despite the legitimacy of this spelling also the error thought process could be because I’m so used to Lilia :joy:) and I think lacks that timeless feel. Lilya feels more modern which is part of the appeal of this spelling but is why I do understand that you feel this name doesn’t work as well with the ever so classic The0dor3. In comparison I think Lilianna looks visually more classic and elegant paired with The0dor3. I just want to add that I prefer spelling wise Liliana. Liliana feels more streamlined. However just to sum up the Lily dilemma I think Lilia is your answer. Lilia has exactly the same sound of Lilya (this is essentially the name phonetically) but feels more timeless, streamlined and classic. I think Lilia is very in keeping with The0dor3 and sounds lovely with the middle name Grace. Lilia seems to provide what you like with Liliana but the sound you prefer of Lilya. I think The0dor3 & Lilia Grace would be lovely.

Looking at your other ideas I do love Eloise! Eloise is one of my favourites she’s very classic, feminine and romantic with a range of sweet nicknames. Visually The0dor3 and Eloise look pretty together with that shared O sound. Eowyn is pretty however does feel very stylistically different from The0dor3. I think Elowen, Bronwen or Liliwen are a better fit.

Ahhh gosh I love Benedict! I think Benedict is such a handsome, romantic name with the sweet Ben nickname. Regarding the Bridgerton connection I think if Eloise is a strong contender then yes Theodore, Eloise & Benedict is very Bridgerton but if you choose one of the Lily names it’s completely fine.
Theodore feels like a minor character and it’s hard not to like a Bridgerton name as there are so many fab names used.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is a wonderful idea! It’s bright, happy and sophisticated.
I adore the nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Personally, I would spell [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] as [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. I think this spelling is more intuitive and traditional. It’s a beautiful name for Theodore’s sister. I love that [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is elegant, international, sweet and unexpected. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be gorgeous!
[name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] is gentle and melodic, but I prefer the simple and timeless [name_f]Lilia[/name_f].
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is captivating, adorable and georgeous!

For girls, you have lovely ideas. If [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] is your preference, I’d go with that! I do enjoy the spelling [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] more than [name_f]Lilya[/name_f], but I like both

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is elegant and pretty and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is distinctive and interesting!

I do think [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] could work if you don’t use [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], though tbh, [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] are popular enough that I don’t think it’s unusable in that set :person_shrugging:

[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckham[/name_m]

I like:

Lilia

Lily-Anna or Liliana

I would use Lily-Anna if you definitely want the “Anna” (Ann-ah) sound rather than uh-nah. Liliana will likely invite a mix of pronunciations but I think most will say Lily-uh-na.

Lily-Grace

Lila-Grace

Eloise (but probably with a new middle as I don’t love the flow of Eloise Grace with the close together S sounds)

Wildcard: Elsbeth

Benedict - super handsome!

Others: Sebastian, Rafferty, Otis, Felix, Xavier, Alexander (Xander), Rupert, Oscar, Alasdair.

My favorite of the names you mentioned to go with big brother Theodore is Eloise!! It’s vintage and trendy just like Theodore is, and so very gorgeous. Nicknames could be Elle, Lulu :cherry_blossom:

With the spelling Lilya you may run into mispronunciation issues ex “Lil-ya” rather than the more flowing “Lil-ee-uh” pronunciation. I agree with the previous comment that spelling it Lilia would be more intuitive and timeless like Theodore. Lilianna is too many syllables for my personal taste.

Have you considered Lily on its own since that’s what you would likely call her anyways? Theodore & Lily is a beautiful sibset!!

other suggestions you may like

Lilibeth nn Lily (combo of Lily & Elizabeth - gorgeous!)

Amelia

for boys how about

I like Lilianna Grace best with Theodore (although it contains “anna” which also means grace.) Lilya is also lovely, as is Eloise. Eowyn feels like a different style though…

I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Lilianna[/name_f]! I would use both those names together myself. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are also good.

For a boy, what about…
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]August[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]

[name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] fits [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] better, but Lily-Anna or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] are more classic. I also like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], also [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

If [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] comes off as two “Bridgerton” with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], how about:

[name_m]Albert[/name_m]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]
[name_m]Clement[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m]

Good luck!

[name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] is so beautiful

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Ooh, [name_f]Lilya[/name_f]! Honestly, I prefer [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], but I totally get the appeal of [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] too. Either way, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is the sweetest & perfect with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] said Lily-ah-nuh, but is [name_f]Lilianna[/name_f] said Lily-anne-uh? That’s a little more confusing and not as pretty in my opinion. [name_f]Lilya[/name_f] is also more unique.

I also love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. So charming & perfect with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. You really can’t go wrong with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is really cool and different; maybe a little tricky for some folks to know how to pronounce, but always worth it for a unique name in my opinon. Plus, the nn [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] is an option!

As for a boy, [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is not my personal favorite; I think it’s too stuffy & too much like [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Arnold[/name_m]. I don’t know that I’d worry about the Bridgerton thing…just a current pop culture thing that’s not even that popular, is it? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like other ‘Ben’ names? [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is always a beautiful classic (I know brothers called [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] & Theodore). [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is also really handsome and a bit less common than [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m].

A few other boy suggestions:

[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]

[name_m]Alec[/name_m]

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]

[name_m]Otis[/name_m]

[name_m]Winston[/name_m]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

Thanks for the input and suggestions! I actually love the spelling “Lilia”—I just never thought of it because I’d only seen it spelled “Lilya”. Also loving the ideas of [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] for boys! I’ll keep [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] in my back pocket for now.
