My daughter’s name is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant. My DH does not like to discuss names and does not enjoy the process at all.
These are girl names that I like for this pregnancy:
I brought up the name [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] last night and he strongly dislikes it, so it is out. I’m trying to expand my list in the chance that he will react the same way to the names that are left. Names in our family/close friends that I can not use: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Madeline[/name_f].
As far as boys go, I have nothing that’s grabbing me. My DH has mentioned that he likes [name_m]George[/name_m], but I’m not sure how I feel about it. (He brought it up before the royal baby was born.) Our boy name from my first pregnancy ([name_m]John[/name_m]) is off the table in my DH’s eyes. My DH has said in the past that he wants a “manly man” name for a son, which I take to mean old man/nursing home type name. I’m fine with that if I can find one we can both agree on.
I don’t think I have too many rules, but these are our parameters: identifiably male/female name, no unusual/creative spellings, nothing that starts with A, L, or H.
Hmm…
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a gorgeous classic name! I think you should continue with this style.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - I’m really not keen on [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], for me I love [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] but [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] seems boring due to the fact that [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is so over-used.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - ugh I have never liked [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] for me she sounds unattractive.
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] she’s an elegant choice, really sweet and poetic. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] has a lovely nickname option of [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as well.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - another lovely choice, so sweet with great Greek mythology associations. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is stunning.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] - too me [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] sounds like a complicated pasta dish.
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] - unattractive and dated. Not my style.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] - sounds really lovely I also adore the Nordic stance on this name.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - another lovely choice, [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] sounds really pretty and has a very British feel due to [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]'s sheer popularity here in [name_m]Britain[/name_m].
Despite the birth of the royal baby being exciting I cannot stand the name [name_m]George[/name_m]. I find [name_m]George[/name_m] so unattractive. Whereas [name_m]John[/name_m] is lovely. I understand the style your DH likes here are some suggestions for boys…
[name_u]Niall[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Christian[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
Out of your names I really like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] are lovely together. Other names I would suggest would be…
Obviously I am going to say [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is the best out of your list But I actually think [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] sounds better with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
