We are expecting our 2nd boy in [name]December[/name]. Looking for names to go with older brother [name]Felix[/name].

We are very fond of the name [name]Felix[/name] and consistently receive compliments on the name so we are concerned that the 2nd child have a name that stands on its own and is not overshadowed.

That said, we’re not looking for a name that is too exotic or trying too hard. And no, we won’t be considering [name]Oscar[/name]. :wink:

Growing a bit desperate as we’re not finding much we like. So, very open to suggestions.

I think [name]Felix[/name] is beloved because it has sort of a European vibe, but is quite recognizable to English speakers. I also think people are picking up on the Latin meaning of happiness, whether consciously or unconsciously.

It’s hard because [name]Felix[/name] could be considered hipster, popular or old fashioned depending on how you look at it!

I liked the idea of [name]Sebastian[/name]. My ideas are [name]Casimir[/name], [name]Dante[/name] & [name]Xavier[/name]. I think they are cool and slightly unusual, but still accessible names.

We have a 23 month old Felix, and his 6 month old brother is Elias (only ever called Eli). I love Elias and felt that it was as classic and handsome as Felix but it is a bit of a mouthful hence Eli. I did have concerns as Eli is the middle three letters of Felix but noone seems to notice and people comment all the time on what great names they have. The other name we nearly chose for Eli and I LOVE with Felix is Theodore (Theo). I also love Jude with Felix. Good luck, it seems much harder to choose a name second time around!
